Directed by The Duffer Brothers

Plot:
> Years ago, Dick Grayson was the first Robin and had a mission to assist Batman in stopping the mercenary, Deathstroke. However, he broke Dick mentally and caused him to abandon his morals with ease. He was in a rage and killed Deathstroke right in front of Batman once he blinded his right eye. Upset, Batman gave him a firm rebuke by punishing him but ended up with the two of them getting into an argument with each other. In the present day, Dick has been living happily after he escaped from Batman's shadow. He married Barbara Gordon and worked as both a police officer in Bludhaven by day and a new vigilante persona as Nightwing at night. But this fresh start isn't going so well since he was overwhelmed by the tons of crimes that he decided to form a small team inspired by the Justice League. He went to recruit Donna Troy who's been active as Wonder Girl in Washington DC after Wonder Woman permitted him. Soon he gathers other recruitments, namely Jaime Reyes aka Blue Beetle who has lived along with a weapon-like parasite, Scarab, Garfield Logan aka Beast Boy, an orphan with a dark past who became an experimental subject of serum that gave him the ability to transform into any animal but managed to move on by being very optimistic and humorous, Kon-El who acknowledges himself as an escaping Zod's minion since the invasion with the given nickname "Superboy" from Garfield, and lastly Rachel Roth, a mysterious girl who's very distant and cold and has been exhibiting strange abilities she unable to understand and control. Her attitude soon gives Garfield the idea to nickname her "Raven". Meanwhile, Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke was resurrected from hell after hearing the voice of a demon named Trigon. He chose Slade as his servant after finding his amount of rage within that he ordered a mission to hunt down a girl named Rachel. Trigon grants Slade an enhancement power before sending him back to Earth Realms. To grow the team's bonding, Garfield suggests holding a small vacation at the carnival and everyone begins to have fun, even Rachel who becomes more comfortable thanks to Garfield's friendliness. Dick oddly feels more like an old brother than a leader since his teammates are mostly younger than him.

> However, they were soon interrupted by the sudden Slade's attack which shocked Dick as he was presumed dead years ago. Despite Dick's orders to evacuate civilians, Superboy recklessly attacks Slade and Slade uses his power in front of the team to fear them. Slade runs to target Rachel, following the team's actions in protecting her. But their failures force Dick to have no other choice than to face him. Involved in a rematch, Slade tries to manipulate Dick with his words to break him mentally just as he used to be. Dick learned this trick and eventually managed to prevent it. Slade then uses a hard way by locking him and forcing him to witness him hurting his teammates, but Slade's actions trigger Rachel's rage to unleash her true power instead. Rachel decides to surrender herself to stop more bloodshed. Dick soon delivers his teammates to a hospital. He's now in a stressful situation that comes as a leader's responsibility, the same condition when he was 9 and witnessed his parent's death after a horrible accident in a circus show. He blamed himself for both incidents. Barbara comes to help Dick at his lowest point with her best, assuring him as a great person who could overcome a fear of his darkest past. She also explains Dick Bruce's untold reason behind his choosing; preventing Dick from being as vengeful as Bruce during his early time. Once he recovered, Dick rises and focused on the training to sharpen his physics, skills, and knowledge. Dick is seeking more info about Rachel, especially after the fact that she was raised by a foster mother the whole time. He reads some of her books and learns the history of her family. Her mother was a member of a cult who married her off to The Demon Trigon, who took a human form. Her mother fled after discovering his true nature and was saved by the Azarathians; benevolent people from another dimension, where Rachel grew up. After unwittingly summoning her father and thus causing the obliteration of Azarath and her mother, Rachel was taken by him so he could conquer Earth, but she refuses and imprisoned him inside the hell. This answers why Rachel keeps being very distant as she frequently struggles to hold Trigon's influence; through his whispers demanding his freedom, from herself and others.
