Pepper Stark was sleeping peacefully in her room. She had a perfect life with her husband Tony Stark and three year old son, Peter. She had cuddled with one of Peter's teddy bear which he had left but her sleep was interrupted by a huge explosion. She got up and saw the time and it was 10:57 at night and ran towards the sound which had come from Tony's lab.
What is he doing in there so late in the night!? She groaned in her mind as she came in the lab and saw Tony covered in black smoke and everything round him was burnt.
"Oh for heaven sake, Tony?! What are you doing so late in the night! I told you don't do risky experiments but do you listen?! And where is Pet-" Pepper was scolding Tony when another explosion interrupted her.
This one though, was caused by their son by mistake and he looked surprisingly happy looking at the blasted device or whatever.
"Daddy! Mommy! That was awesome!" The little boy cheered.
Tony wanted to laugh, seeing that they both were covered in black smoke but Pepper looked worried. She ran towards her son and said,
"Peter, sweetheart, are you ok? That was a huge explosion. Come lets wash up and go to bed." She turned to Tony and said, "Tony, clean up and come to bed, walk it off already!"
Tony just gave a WHAT THE HELL!? look while she carried Peter and took him to the bathroom.
She changed Peter's PJ's and put him to sleep in the toddler bed and she and Tony went to sleep. After few hours of peacefully sleep another explosion, this time from the kitchen, woke her up. Pepper saw that neither Tony or Peter were in their beds and guessed that the boys are up to some madness again.
Some people can never change! She said to herself as she came down and saw the whole kitchen in a mess; there was chocolate syrup everywhere, the mixer was letting out smoke, the waffle maker was beeping and finally the father-son duo was standing at the counter, covered in flour which was also fallen on the floor.
"What are you'll doing!?" She asked while she stood at the door.
"Happy Birthday?" They said at once as the showed her a chocolate cake which they made for her. Her anger did come down but she couldn't help but laugh at them. They were covered from head to toe in flour and chocolate syrup all over them
"Happy Birthday mommy, we make cake!" Peter said as he tried to come to her but he slipped and fell down.
Pepper came to him but she also slipped and fell, covering herself in the flour as well. The mother-son began to laugh and Tony tried to help them up but they pulled him down.
"Happy Birthday Peps." Tony said as he gave her a kiss and sat next to her while Peter was tracing his finger in the flour.
"Peter, you cute brown curls are cover in flour." Tony said as he ruffled his son's hair to remove the flour but it didn't help.
"Daddy, you look like Jack Frost! And mommy looks like Elsa!" Peter said.
"And you are Olaf?" Pepper said as she dusted the flour off herself and Tony.
"Nope, your son!" The toddler replied.
The couple smiled and got up while Peter tried to stand up but he kept falling down. Tony carried Peter out and they went to clean up.
"What was last night's explosion about?" She asked Tony.
"We wanted to make a gift but it didn't go as planned." He replied.
"We were trying to fix your favourite broken pendant but the machine exploded." Peter added.
"But we did get something which you will like." Tony said as he opened the room door and Peter ran towards the bed, removed the pillow under which was a small box. They handed it to Pepper and made her sit on the bed to open it.
It was a necklace which had, emeralds, rubies and diamonds on it and Pepper smiled looking at the wonderful present.

"Aw, this is so cute. Thank you boys." She said as she gave both of them a bear hug and Tony ran out and came back with waffles for them.
"Can we go to McDonald's or Chunk E Cheese or Dunkin Donuts for lunch?" Peter asked, his brown eyes bright as ever.
"Birthday girl's choice." Tony said.
Pepper looked at their faces and finally said, "How about pizza?"
"Yay!" Peter said as he jumped in excitement and sat on Tony.
"First finish your breakfast, Petey Pie." His dad said as he feed him another waffle.
"Daddy I'm full."
"How can you be? You just had one waffle." Tony replied.
"I am."
"Pete if you finish this waffle, we'll get extra corn added to your pizza." Pepper said.
"And cheese too." Tony added.
"You'll are the best!" Peter said as he gave his mom and dad a big hug and finished his waffle.
