IRONDAD SPIDERSON ONE SHOTS

THANK GOD IT WAS A DREAM

Tony Stark was busy in his lab and his 5-year-old son, Peter came running in and hugged him.

"Daddy! School was amazing!" The boy cheered.

"That's nice and where's mommy?" Tony asked Peter as Pepper would always come with him in the lab but she didn't this time.

"Mommy's talking to someone at the door." Peter replied as he played with a rubix cube.

Tony went out and had the shock of his life when he saw his father, Howard Strak talking to Pepper and she was also quite suprised. He went close to her and said,
"Take Peter inside." Completely forgetting that he was already in. Pepper excused herself and went in.

"You've grown fine." Howard said but Tony just gave a blank look. He didn't know what and how did his father come back from the dead.

"You've, made very good use of the company that I left for you." Howard added but Tony didn't say anything.

"Look Tony, I am very-"

"Angry? Want me to go back to that boarding school and learn something else or you just want to hit or say something to me?" Tony finally spoke up but he didn't want to see his dad.

"Tony, those were different times. I had to work hard and if you had a son you would-"

"Peter! Come here for a sec, kiddo." Tony interrupted his father once again and Peter came running out and gave his dad a hug.

"Yes daddy?" He said which made Howard smile a little as he saw his grandson, who had the same eyes as Tony's.

"Peter, did I ever send you away from mommy and me, hit you, make work more important, say something to you or ever pushed you away?" Tony asked his son as he carried him.

"Daddy, you never did anything like that and you never will." Peter replied.

Tony gave his dad a look and sent Peter back in with Pepper.

"Remember when we were arguing and I told you that 'I will never be like you'?" Tony said.

"Yes."

"I did what I said, I am not like you." Tony said.

As they were about to talk further a huge blast happened.

Tony gasped and woke up. He saw that he and Pepper were in bed and he ran towards his five-year-old's room. He saw Peter sleeping peacefully while hugging his teddy bears. Tony sighed in relief and when he turned around, he saw Pepper standing behind him.

"Thank God it was a dream!" He said which left Pepper confused.

"What dream?" She asked.

Tony told Pepper about his dream and she tried to calm him down as his heart rate was increasing.

"Tony, relax it was just a dream." She said.

"I would never want it to become a reality." Tony said as Pepper took him back in the room to sleep. Tony managed to get a peaceful sleep for the rest of the night but that dream kept haunting him. There was a fear in his mind that might turn out to become like his father but he was lucky to have a loving and caring wife like Pepper and a cute, loving, smart and extremely playful son like Peter.

The next morning, Tony got up and saw that Pepper wasn't there and it was Friday, so he thought that she had gone to make doughnuts as that was the Friday breakfast as Tony was free and Peter didn't have school.

He got up and changed his clothes and went to wake Peter up. Peter was sleeping half on the bed and half hanging from the bed, Tony carried him and ruffled his brown hair to wake him up.

"Good morning daddy." Peter said after yawning and getting up.

"Good morning son, ready for doughnuts?"

"Yes!"

They went down and Pepper had already made five doughnuts and was making few more.

"Good morning." She said.

"Good morning mommy." Peter said.

"Good morning Peps." Tony said as he made Peter sit on the counter and himself sat on the chair next to it.

Peter was ready to attack the doughnuts but his mother didn't allow him to as it was hot. She made three more and they sprinkled sprinkles on each and every one of them and Peter put chocolate syrup on them. As they ate, Tony kept getting flashbacks of his dream but everytime he got one, Peter's non stop rambling kept bringing him back.

Tony was very grateful and always felt blessed for having Pepper and Peter in his life. His childhood was tough and he hated it but he lives his childhood again with his son. Peter didn't know what his daddy had gone through when he was small but unknowingly kept saving him from being sad or depressed with his past. Pepper too, was always there for him whenever he needed her the most, she had given him the best gift ever which was their son.

The Avengers were also there for him, to protect him and his family and he also protects them from any possibile problems. He didn't have the best childhood but did have the best life now.
