'~Connor~'

I grit my teeth in annoyance as I try to drown the annoying sound of the doorbell. I grab the other pillow and put it over my head trying to stifle the never ending sound of ringing.

"Mom," I yell. I know for a fact both Ana and my Mom are downstairs having breakfast. When I hear no response I let out an agitated sigh before getting up to get ready for the day.

I'm known at home to be a pretty deep sleeper and usually a person who values sleep over anything else.

Mom and Ana love eating breakfast every morning as a family so when I don't wake up they do all kinds of things to make me get up, which is why I'm surprised to see them both making breakfast in the kitchen while the bell continues ringing.

Mom is flipping pancakes while Ana watches her without blinking. When mom notices me reaching the end of the staircase she smiles this secret smile that tells me she knows something I don't.

"Good morning sweetheart, mind getting the door for me?"

I give her a sarcastic smile, "Sure it's not like I was sleeping or anything."

"Thank you" she calls out while I head for the door wondering who on earth is here this early in the morning.

I swing the door with force already mad at the person on the other end, the second I meet the familiar person that helped raise me I'm filled with an immense feeling of comfort.

Standing there with a big smile on her face is my Aunt Laura, well not my actual aunt, but just as good as. Her and my mom are childhood best friends, they grew up together and then Aunt Laura helped my mom with raising us especially when my dad was-

Lets just say when it got tough she was always there to help out.

"Aunt Laura."I immediately hug her and her familiar comforting scent surrounds me. She reminds me of all the good days from my childhood.

She was always there to help us out and no matter how dark it got she was always there to light a candle.

"Hey bud." She ruffles my hair and laughs at my not so impressed expression.

"Well are you going to let me in or am I just going to stand here all day." I give her a small smile. Mom always says I get my grumpiness from Aunt Laura I don't see it but I can admit we are a bit similar.

That probably has to do with the fact that I never used to leave her side when I was a kid, I followed her around and was attached to her. We're still close even though I'm 17 and not 2 anymore.

I follow her back to the kitchen, "Aunt Laura."
Anabelle cheers she give her a hug before my aunt opens her arms for my mother "You missed me, didn't you?" My mom smiles and shakes her head as as she hugs Aunt Laura back.

Their friendship is truly something special, they're what I'd call platonic soulmates, always there for eachother, always ready to make the other laugh. She's the only person that seems to know my mother better than herself.

Aunt Laura sits down and she gives my mom an innocent look that has my mom looking at her in suspicion. "What did you?" She groans.
"Hey," Aunt Laura chides "I didn't do anything. That's rude of you to just assume."
My moms glare doesn't waver "You did something and it involves me," my mom squints her eyes "and it involves my kids too."

Aunt Laura gasps at her with her jaw hanging open in shock. "How do you do that?"

My mom smirks at her, "Talent. Now come on fess up. What'd you get my kids and I into?"

This time Ana and I look at her with frowns "Aw come on my babies I didn't do anything."

"Yeah right, and I'm not a baby." I wince, thats exactly what a baby would say. She might think the same since she grins back at me "You sure about that?"
