Delilah

He opens my door and all I can do is give him my biggest smile. I bite the inside of my cheek to stop it from growing but my attempts aren't doing anything to conceal the sheer happiness that fills me up from my head all the way to my toes.

"You're opening my door." I point out to him, as if he wasn't aware.

His laugh slices through the quiet atmosphere outside my house but I can't make myself care if anyone hears us. All I can do is keep my eyes fixed on his.

With amusement coating his words he tells me "I've opened your door for you before Lilah."

"I know." I tell him, shaking my head as I grab his offered hand and get out of the car. Before I can pull away his arms snake around my waist pulling me to him. Ignoring my racing heart I tell him matter of fact, "It's the first time you've opened my door after.... you know." I convey the rest of my sentence with my eyes which just makes him laugh more.

He gives me a mock confused look, shaking his head, "I don't think I understand what you mean, care to elaborate"

My cheeks blaze as I scrunch my nose at him, his only response is to do it back to me, my cheeks hurt from the amount of smiling and laughing I've been doing all day. "After we've made it official." I tell him my voice becoming more quiet as my shyness makes an appearance.

His smile turns sweet as he brings me even closer to him so he can rest his forehead against mine. "I'm yours Delilah."

"And I am yours." I tell him both of us are mirroring the other with our big smiles.

We're teenagers in love.

I blew out a breath, not being able to believe this is all real, him and I. We're together. After months of harboring a crush, this was it.

As if sensing my thoughts he looks at me gently, "This still feels like a dream."

Before I can reply the front door is swung open and a worried Miles appears.

His hair is disheveled as if he ran his fingers through it multiple times, his face relaxes a bit when he sees the both of us. His eyes roam us both as if checking if we're okay. I'm so startled by him that I don't even register that Connor and I are still standing so close.

I spring apart from Connor but before I can say a word Miles interrupts me, "get in here, quickly." Conor and I both look towards the other in confusion.

"What-"

"Delilah in, now." He says leaving no room for discussion. When Connor moves towards me Miles eyes snap towards him. "Connor, you too."

"What?" Connor and I blurted out together.

Miles Lets out an impatient sigh "Can the both of you please come in the house now before I go into cardiac arrest?"

We both share a look before quickly walking in and following Miles to our living room.

Connor gives me a wide eyed look before directing his gaze towards my disheveled brother. "Miles I know you said 9 sharp but traffic was horrible and really we're only a few minutes-"

Miles cuts his rambling off "What? No. It's not that." He thinks for a moment before saying, "Wait a minute you are late. Why are you late?" He accuses Connor whose eyes widen.

Before he can give a reply another voice interrupts, "Darling leave him alone there are more important matters right now." Laura comes out of the kitchen holding a tray of mugs. I stare at shock as she places the tray down on the table. "Go on, kids. Have some tea."
