"Are you alright. The royals were asking about you... sorry that I forgot to tell you rightaway."

I sadly smiled at what Prince Chiron  just informed me. Though I felt a pang of pain in my heart and felt as though they couldn't really do anything about my situation except worry about me and my condition...my situation. The royals are too busy for a heartbroken like me. So I never really anticipated help coming from them. After all, I am the commoner here and not the monarch. I am  not their friend. It is actually my ex husband.

We both watched the café as hired people began fixing stuff. Sarah was supervising everything. Despite the cold weather, she didn't want to waste time. I sadly watched the café transitioned into a different one. A far cry from how I imagined it.

Though it's still cozy, it's nothing like how I wanted it to be.

"I'm okay. I'll be okay..."

I faintly replied.

"You know what? I can fund it. Why didn't you ask help from me? Well at this point, we're friends right?"

What he said made me smile. It was so comforting to hear a royal sticking up for me. I looked at him, this time with a smile.

"Yes, of course but... please believe me when I say it's better this way. Also, please tell the royals not to worry about me anymore. Those people are quite busy and shouldn't be bothered."

What I said caused a crease on his flawless forehead. As though what I said was absurd.

"If they are your real friends, they'd find time to console you. To be fair, I recieved constant calls from them but I was hoping someone would at least show up. You're not just some commoner friend. You are their strongest ally's wife."

"Ex wife, your highness."

He rolled his eyes;

"Oh please, drop the title."

I shrugged;

"As you wished."

He smiled.

"By the way... I'm not sure if you're  simply tasked to come here or what but I really appreciate your kindness."

"Well, I'm not exactly tasked but I feel the need to do this. For you and for Avalanche. Look, I know the guy so well. He may not say anything but I can sense that he needed someone to check on you. I'm not in the position to give you false hopes and let me clarify that he didn't ask me to do this. But I know that he knows I come around for you."
