The heat of the bed was so soothing, and I didn't want to move a muscle. My eyes remained closed, and I completely recalled what took place earlier. So far, I couldn't feel pain. I twitched my fingers... and my feet... I can still feel them. Carefully moved my body slightly on one side, and well, everything seemed fine.

I fell NO- I slipped.

The frozen pavement wasn't cured with salt, and it was too late for me to realize as I was yearning to pick up the poor kitten.

Oh, the kitten? I wonder where it is?

Poor thing looked starving.

I gently opened my eyes to find my husband in such a worried look, eyeing me.

I looked around, I'm still in the villa.

Subtly held my belly...

No pain.

I feel really okay.

"Ruis, are you alright?"

His deep voice resonated around the room. It wasn't actually loud, but the room had a deafening silence.

A relaxing stillness...

It's already dark outside, and the huge windows are now concealed with ivory drapes.

Warm dimmed lights...

He gently held me and assisted me to sit upright,  placed pillows on my back as I leaned on the headboard of the huge bed.

"I'm fine... I slipped..."

I quickly explained. He nodded and rose from the side of the bed and walked towards what seemed to be a trolley where a row of food was elegantly placed. I noticed that he was wearing a robe.

And I, the same.

Though it was silk, the room was warm enough. But his majesty's was something of a different thicker fabric.

Maybe linen.

"Are you hungry. You haven't eaten anything yet. You slept all day..."

One by one, he checked the food, lifting each cloche to get a glimpse of what was prepared for me. One food was served with a warmer. It was surely  porridge or soup.

"The kitten, where is it?... it's starv-"

"The kitten is well taken care of. Don't worry."

He didn't even look at me and continued speculating each food tray.

I sighed and moved to get off the bed.

He walked towards me and silently watched as I carefully landed my feet on the warm carpet. He crouched and quickly assisted me as I was about to wear my bedroom slippers.

"Hungry?"

"Not really... but I must take a bite."
