Today is sunny and quite ideal for a morning walk despite the snow. I gently took my excited son away from his father's side, who was still in deep sleep. It's already seven thirty in the morning, and it's time for Sage's breakfast. Today he woke up earlier than us so I'm sure my little one is hungry now.

He kept on jumping, and I couldn't hold a chuckle. In Russian, I told the little prince to stop as he might wake his father.

When we reached the kitchen, Kynnei had already prepared breakfast and happily invited us. She also prepared something for our little one.

"The prince is still asleep, sister?" 😮🙂

She asked while assisting me with Sage's high chair.

"Oh yes, I think because he's the one who wakes up and stays up late for our baby prince. You know, when he asks for milk..."

"Oh, is that so. Maybe I'll just prepare for him newly cooked food later."

"No, no, it's okay, Kynnei just re heat them if ever. Besides, don't you have any plans to go around town today? Aren't your friends inviting you out?"

What I said automatically put a smile on her face, and she simply nodded.
Kynnei made friends with some of the cafe's part timers, and today, as I recalled, they invited her. She mentioned this a couple of days ago.

"Go out and enjoy. But please take care, okay?"

"Okay."

As we actually started digging in, we were both startled by my husband's deep voice.

"No need to reheat everything. Dobroye utro."

He sat beside me, gave our son a kiss on his little forehead, and began digging in as well.

I closely watched him. Not a bright smile on his face, but he seemed pretty calm. I remembered what happened last night... how he read me a story. It was so random and...

Well, I guess he can really see right through me. One of the things I craved as a child was full attention from my parents.

Oh. Adopted parents...

How I wanted for mother to read me a bedtime story. Just like the other kids I know...
