⚜️ forty three ⚜️

It's still early, and I'm already up. Sun is almost out, and I really love watching the sun rise in such snowy scenery. Its beauty is breathtaking, and I can only thank the heavens every single time nature takes over my senses. Small, careful steps caught my attention. I didn't have to guess and quickly called her out.

"Why were you late last night?"

I spoke as I sipped from my cup of  coffee.

I didn't have to look at her. I can only imagine her crimsoned face.

I slightly looked back to see her how I exactly imagined her.

She had an awkward smile on her face and, in her language, properly explained the reason why.

She said she wasn't able to notice the time she had enjoyed watching some street musicians with her friends. I gave her a slight nod, simply telling her I understood.

"But next time, do let us know. You could've simply called us."

In such a remorseful way, she once again apologized. I didn't mention what she witnessed last night. Surely, it wasn't a shocker for her as we, Ruis and I, are a couple to begin with.

"Your Highness, what would you like to have for breakfast?"

She offered, to which I quickly declined.

"You don't have to. We'll be having our breakfast at the villa. Let's just wait for Ruis and my son to wake up... give them a little more time. Are you hungry? Would you like me to cook you something?"

Suddenly, I thought about that. She truly reminded me of Martina...

She quickly waved her hands, head shaking;

"Ah no, your highness, I'm okay. Maybe I'll just have a glass of warm milk and make myself some breakfast... it's okay."

I furrowed my brows.

"Then you're hungry. Wait, I'll-"

She shook her head, smiling; 

"I'll be okay, your highness, don't worry about me."

Wait a minute. She must've misunderstood something...

"Did you think we'll leave you behind? You're coming with us, Kynnei. We can't leave you on your own here. Besides, we'll be spending New Year's Eve at the villa... though I haven't really told Ruis about this yet. So just wait for a little while, and we can all have breakfast there. Okay?"

She wasn't able to protest. She smiled and bowed at me.

"Maybe a warm milk to warm your stomach will be fine."

Once again, she thanked me and silently left.

I checked the time. It's still early... yet we all can't miss breakfast. I decided to give Daniels a call and pick us up. Maybe I'll just have to carry a sleeping Ruis and have Daniels take Sage so we can go now.
