•Ruis•

It's been a week since Kynnei stayed and worked with us and I could say she's very persistent and hard working. Despite being a bit clumsy at times she was eager and listened carefully to her co workers' instructions and pieces of advice. She's very nice too. She's always attentive with my needs even if she doesn't have to. As though purposely taking care of me. Like a little sister truly concerned for her older sibling.

The spare room near the gardens will have a final touch this week and she can move in. We're all happy to have her here and this time agreed to take turns teaching her the English language. I understand that Maynard may feel a little awkward and it would be difficult for him as he's not even fluent in Russian.

(Russian)

"Sister, is this correct? I don't know if... I'm not sure if my sentence structure is..."

I leaned closer and checked her sentences. Pointed out a few mistakes but I'm glad that she's indeed a fast learner. She happily accepted my corrections and tried again.

"My, my... looks like our little student here is a fast learner. You've been only learning for a few days. Now look at you... here, have some hot chocolate you two. Take a short break."

Sarah carefully placed the cute cups of hot chocolates on the table along with pastries on a tray. Kynnei thanked the sophisticated lady and carefully took a cup and gave it to me before getting the other one for herself.

Sarah smiled at her sweet gesture.

"Looks like you got yourself a little sister, Ruis. Aside from me of course."

I smiled and gently massaged Kynnei's shoulder.

"I guess she's ours now."

The young lady eyeing us, trying to comprehend our conversation. I quickly translated everything in Russian.

She smiled and quickly gave Sarah a hug.

"Awww. Can we just...adopt her? For real?"

I smiled.

"Not a bad idea. I guess she's my family now. We'll have each other. Just two orphans against the world."

What I said suddenly changed Sarah's expression.

I was taken aback too and I felt like what I said was something I shouldn't be sharing to anyone even though I consider her a good friend. My connections to people is really complicated.

"I-I'm sorry but-"

I quickly shook my head and smiled;

"I-I mean I feel like... you know, an orphan. I'm not particularly close to my parents... so..."

She slowly nodded her head as though deliberating my words. She crossed her arms and gave me an austere smile.

"I believe you have a valid reason to feel that way, your highness. I have never seen the Ryus coming here to check on you. Not even once."
