It was surreal walking around the SoFi campus on the first concert day.
It was late morning and there were already ARMY beginning to congregate on the lawns, line up both at the merch booths, and even for the stadium as well. Nova knew ARMY was passionate especially when it came to concerts but didn't realize HOW much.
The day before when she finished her call with Rodrigo Nova then received another phone call, this time from Soo-Young.
The merch tent had opened and the fans had descended in droves. The line was so long, that the wait was better part of 9 hours.
Dropping everything and driving straight to the venue, Nova ended up being in meetings with the SoFi managerial staff most of the day. Kosmos was not directly involved with the concert but it was obvious that the stadium was not properly prepared.
In the initial planning phases, Kosmos was brought in to help with the planning and execution of the different events. The only event they didn't get was the concert since the stadium made it clear that everything would be done in-house and had made it clear multiple times that Kosmos was NOT needed. They could be used to assist, but SoFi was adamant that they take care of everything related to the concert.
Although no one could truly predict ARMY's behavior, one should have been able to somewhat predict that the turnout would be massive especially since their four-day residence sold out in pre-sales. For a 60,000k seat stadium as well...
The mishandling of the merch tent logistics was concerning to Nova, to say the least.
Rodrigo met her at the stadium so they could both beg the venue's managing company to allow Kosmos to assist with operations on concert days.
If it was this chaotic on merch day, what would the concert look like?
After being reassured by their staff and managers that everything was handled, they left the venue around dinner. Over and over they were told that the stadium's staff was more than prepared especially with the Superbowl coming up in three months. The SoFi higher-ups were convinced this concert residency would be a flawless dress rehearsal.
Cautiously optimistic, Nova chose to stay close to the venue on the first concert day. The venue staff assured both of them that everything was good to go, yet she wanted to see for herself.
Understanding that this was a newer venue that Nova's company would be more than likely working with in the future, Soo-Young did not assign Nova any responsibilities. This allowed her to be fully present as the representative of Kosmos.
This meant she had very little time with Seokjin who was understandably just as busy himself.
Unable to even meet for dinner the night before, Seokjin snuck into Nova's room after his late-night rehearsal. The two of them cuddled on the couch to watch the newest episode of Jirisan together. As he softly sang the lyrics to Yours, her entire body erupted into goosebumps with chills traveling down her spine.
He held her tightly just like the night before and upped the ante by slyly placing soft kisses on the top of her head before eventually placing them on her temple. It took all her energy not to turn around and kiss him on his plump plush lips.
She wanted to take it a step further but held back.
For one, she didn't want to get carried away the night before his first concert. Most of all, she was enjoying this slow pace they were taking.
He lived 6,000 miles and with a 16-hour time difference, the last thing she wanted was to start a long-distance relationship. As much as she loved the flirting and ability to date, she couldn't help but worry that whatever this was between the two of them had an expiration date.
