There was no one like Kim Seokjin.

From early on, the eldest member of BTS was known for speaking the truth and not sugarcoating anything. Hell, there was a reason why ARMY gave him the nickname, JinHit. It had always been a part of him but became more prominent as time went on and their popularity increased.

He had a tender heart and would do anything for those he loved. Yet, he was the last person you wanted to mess with.

There was no way to predict what Kim Seokjin would do next. He had always been known for marching to the beat of his own drum. In short, when it came to him, it was best to expect the unexpected. This is why the staff was not surprised that Jin held nothing back during his Weverse livestream in honor of the release of his solo, The Astronaut.

He woke up first thing that morning to stream at a time that K-Armies could still watch. Even though he was up late the night before due to attending the first night of Coldplay's Buenos Aires concert as a spectator, he was eager to spend some time talking about his solo debut release. Time with ARMY that he hadn't been able to do since his infamous 3-hour live when he was last in America.

(Let it be known Nova was helping wardrobe prepare for the MV shoot, hence why he was left unsupervised with ARMY that evening)

It was supposed to be a time set aside to promote his new song, but it was instead a hot gossip session. It was already known that he would take time to talk about the creation of this song. What wasn't expected was all the hot tea that he decided to spill.

This is why the staff always embraced the fact that one could never predict what Kim Seokjin would do next.

He went live that morning to lay everything out for the world.

Speaking candidly about his military plan, he revealed that he had been ready to go since 2020. Due to COVID and wanting to be there for ARMY. There was a collective gasp across the internet when he revealed that he was planning on enlisting in the summer after PROOF promotions had finished. However, the Busan concert opened up one last opportunity for the seven of them to perform in front of KArmies without any COVID restrictions.

Those who were privy to the ins and outs of Jin's personal life knew why was laying all his cards on the table and speaking so frankly. They also knew that Busan was not the reason Jin postponed his enlistment once again. It all boiled down to one person.

Nova Kim.

His girlfriend.

The love of his life.

The star that shone brightly in his universe, illuminating the path that was once dark.

The reason why Jin finally felt true peace and contentment in his life as he approached the next phase full of unknowns.

He could not name one emotion that stood out most when it came to how he felt regarding Nova's absence in Argentina today. It was a wide range from anger to annoyance and even despair.

Although she didn't know it yet, Nova was the true inspiration for his song. Even though it was marketed as a song for ARMY because many sentiments paralleled how he felt for his precious fans, she was the reason why that single came out in the way that it did.

Chris Martin could tell right away that Jin was hopelessly in love when he talked about what he wanted during their planning sessions. He and his son helped to take the lyrics that Jin wanted, preserve the meaning but spin it so it could be marketed as a farewell song for ARMY.

They knew that at the core of it all, The Astronaut was a song for Nova.

A confession of love hidden in plain sight.
