🚫 TW/CW - Broken Friendship, Friends Fighting, Toxic behavior. 🚫
Two Days Later
Nova's head rested on the steering wheel of her Highlander as she took slow deep breaths.
With the past almost 48 hours tormenting her, Nova was thankful to have work to distract her today. Even if it meant she was up at 4:00 am and about to drive over an hour.
Initially, there was no way she would have been in any condition to work on Monday. Thankfully, a dust storm delayed the MV shoot by a day which allowed her a day to recover and be prepared to join the crew on Tuesday.
The sun wasn't up yet it was time for her to head out to the Bellagio to meet up with the caravan of vehicles headed to the music video shot planned in the desert. Instead of doing that, she was sitting in her parked vehicle outside the Quintana's home. This was where she had been staying the past two nights and part of her wasn't ready to leave.
The thought of seeing Seokjin again practically rendered her immobile. She thought she was ready to face him ... the nerves currently coursing through her system painted a different picture.
During the explosive conversation with Elle, Nova first had to deal with the shock of being called by her birth name. A name she desperately wanted to be buried with her past. Then Elle pushed the envelope further by sharing a secret that was not hers to share.
Doing so for no other reason than the sole purpose of hurting Nova.
Completely hurt by Elle's actions and shocked by the bomb that was dropped onto her lap, Nova's fight or flight kicked in.
She chose to leave.
Nova couldn't fully comprehend how fast the conversation with Elle went south. They had barely greeted each other when the atmosphere became tense.
It had been almost a decade since ANYONE had called her by her previous name. Even when she tried to reconcile with her parents, they at least respected her wishes and called her by the name she chose. Nova. She was stunned to the point she couldn't say anything at first.
After taking a moment to compose herself, Nova bit back. She was so full of adrenaline that she couldn't remember exactly what she said. All she knew was that it pissed off Elle further.
Before she knew it, they were both shouting at each other with Cass standing helplessly in the background.
Nova was just standing up for herself, while Elle was digging the knife deeper and deeper. It got to the point that Nova realized that it was highly unlikely their friendship would ever recover. Not wanting to waste any more time on the lost cause, Nova decided it was time to cut her losses and leave.
"I'm sorry, we are not getting anywhere. I'd rather just leave this at an impasse and return to Seokjin. Have a nice life, Elle."
Nova turned to her bedroom with the intention to grab her overnight bag. At this rate, she just wanted to return to his arms and pretend that today never happened.
Elle wasn't going to let her go that easily.
"Once again, it's all about Princess Rebecca and what she wants."
"Eleanor. Stop that now. That is not her name."
"Who gives a fuck. I hate being called Eleanor and she hates being called Rebecca. But I put up with it. If I have to, she has to."
Nova slammed the door of her room as she busily began to pack. It took her less than three minutes to grab what she needed. Before leaving, Nova opened her phone to send a few messages.
