Seokjin was despondent.

What started off as simple banter in the group chat ended up blowing up in his face with Nova ignoring him all afternoon.

It didn't bother him at first.

Until it did.

When she announced her departure from the chat he sent a text to her privately to check in a make sure she was okay.

🦙🧑🏻‍🍳: My brothers and I can get a little aggressive in the chat sometimes. I promise it's all in good fun.  🤡

5 minutes - no response

10 minutes - no response

30 minutes - no response

After half an hour with no response and no sign of her checking the message, he decided to call.

Rang 4 times - went to voicemail.

"Hey Nova, it's Seokjin. I want to make sure you are okay. I'm sorry if we came off too strong, that is our normal banter. Uh, call me back... please."

Trying not to worry, he decided to shoot her another text.

🦙🧑🏻‍🍳: I know you are busy, but will you just send me a 👍🏻 so I know you are okay?

He waited another 30 minutes before texting again.

🦙🧑🏻‍🍳: Did I offend you?

🦙 🧑🏻‍🍳: Did I cross a line?

🦙🧑🏻‍🍳: If I did something wrong, please let me know so I can fix it.

Another 30 minutes passed.

He was beginning to feel anxious, so he tried calling again.

After four rings he was sent to voicemail ... again.

"Hi, Nova. It's Jin again. Are you okay? You don't really disappear like that without checking in. Please let me know if I did something wrong. Call or text me, please?"

He sat his phone down and tried desperately to distract himself. Everyone had finished their lunches a while ago and were now resting or warming up individually.

Seokjin had been resting in the green room for a while when a comment stopped him in his tracks.

"I hope Noona is okay," he heard Jimin say to Jungkook. "In the short time we've known her I haven't seen her avoid us so blatantly. It's almost like something triggered her. Why else would she practically ghost us like that? Even on busy days, she would check in with us."

"Yeah," Jungkook agreed, "Now that you say it out loud, it makes sense. I hope we didn't upset her, I was just trying to rile up Hyung. I've never seen him this passionate about a woman like this in a long time. I hope I didn't ruin it for him..."

Overhearing the maknae's conversation, he began to make connections with past conversations he had with Nova ... Elle even.

Both women had mentioned that Nova had only been in one relationship. Neither had gone into any specific detail other than the fact that it rocked Nova to the point of swearing off dating. He remembered that Elle had used the word 'toxic' and said that Nova had lost her identity.
