He's quiet.

He hasn't said a single thing since I saw him at the hospital. He held me in his arms and everything just didn't matter anymore.

The only thing running in my mind was the feel of his arms around my body, his masculine scent, his erratic heartbeat against my ear.

Noah actually held me in his arms.

Well, as good as it felt, I didn't completely forget about Dad. The tears were a constant reminder. I still can't believe he's been dating that lady for two whole years and I didn't know it.

And now there's so many questions on my mind. Are they getting married? Planning on having kids? Will she move in? Is she the reason we moved?

Wow...

These questions are making my head spin.

Noah stops the car and it's when I notice our surrounding. I was so caught up in my head that I didn't see where we're going.

We're parked in front of what seems to be an old, abandoned building site, the road leading to the place is gravel, everything else is covered in grass, not a single person in sight.

Noah gets out of the car and motions for me to do the same.

"Urm--ah, where are we going?" I ask when we start walking towards the scary building. It looks like a place where you'd kill somebody and not have to worry about witnesses.

He looks over his shoulder, "you don't trust me? I'm no serial killer."

"Said the serial killer before he slit my throat," I roll my eyes.

For some reason, that makes him chuckle. The sound vibrates through me and clenches my heart. Why do I love that sound so much?

"Come," Noah holds a hand out.

Reluctantly, I take it and my whole body burns with intense heat as his large hand wraps ever so gently around my fingers.

He leads me through an incomplete parking lot to what looks like a never ending tunnel. It's dark and cold, grey concrete walls surrounding us everywhere. We walk in silence, the only sound is the water crashing against rocks, I finally see light and when we make it out the tunnel, the ocean finally comes to view.

It's so blue and it looks to be attached to the sky, making it seem even wider, and the area is so serene, not a single person in sight. There's a cold breeze of fresh air, and the largest beach. It's been a while since I went to the beach, I just want to let my feet sink in the warm sand and listen to the sound of the ocean.

"Whoa," my mouth almost falls to the ground, "what is this place?"

"A beach?" Noah looks at me like I'm beyond dumb.

I roll my eyes, "You know what I mean." He doesn't respond. "Come here often?"

He briefly glances at me, "just when I need to."

"It's beautiful," I muse, "is the water safe?"

"Doubt it. Rumors of shark attacks."

Shark attacks? Is he joking?

I frown before looking at him, "and yet you still come here? You like danger that much?"

Noah has always given me the danger liking kind of guy vibes but I never thought of him as suicidal.

"No, but most people don't."

"Oh right, I almost forgot you hate people."

A ghost of a smile shadows his lips. His eyes look like they're on fire as he stares at the sunset, the crimson sky kissing his features making him look more beautiful than ever. A brown strand of hair blows on his face, I suddenly have the urge to put it back in place but I hold myself back.
