In The Grass | Part 2

When I was finished with my errands and whatnot for the day, I went to the pond. I carefully walked into the tall grass like last time. I smiled when I saw that Barns was already there. He had a blanket laying on the ground for us to sit on. A picnic basket was sitting nearby as well. "Hi." I said happily. "Hi." He replied with a charming smile on his face. I joined him and let out a relaxed sigh. It was another hot day, but it felt cool in the grass.

"Would you like something to drink? I made us some strawberry lemonade." He said as he opened the basket. I told him yes and thanked him. He filled two glasses with ice and poured the lemonade on top of the ice. I took a sip and told him it was delicious. It wasn't overly sweet like most lemonade. It had the perfect amount of sweetness. We drank out lemonade as we watched a few ducks on the pond.

Birds sang and I could hear the crickets chirping as well. Everything was so relaxing, and having Barns with me made me feel less alone. Even though we weren't talking it was a comfortable kind of silence. Eventually he took out a couple of sandwich out of the basket. "You though of everything." I said with a smile after thanking him once again. "Well, I didn't wanna have to leave this spot sooner than we have to." He replied with a small smile.

We admitted to each other that we enjoyed spending time together. I really liked his company. As we ate the sandwiches we talked and got to know each other. He was very interesting; A whole lot interesting than me by far. After eating we laid down and watched the fluffy white clouds. They silently floated over us against the bright blue sky. I could have spent the whole day here like this with him. I just hoped that he wouldn't get bored of me.
