Roses | Part 5

October came around and I finally got a security system installed. My friend was thrilled about it and she asked about the person who left the roses. I just told her whoever it was stopped leaving them at my doorstep. I left out the fact that he was here helping me decorate. Barns and I were putting up Halloween decorations. I doubted that trick or treaters came out here, but the decorations were more for me anyway. We put up a few things in each room to make the vibe spooky, yet cozy. Then we strung up orange, purple, and green lights outside on the screened in porch. Eventually we finished decorating and I smiled as I admired our work. I liked the way it looked and considered putting lights on the porch year round. "Come here." Barns said, taking me out of my thoughts.

His voice was a hundred percent better. His wounds had turned into scars. He was completely healed and I was so thankful that he had chosen to stay. I had gotten so use to him being around it would have been hard if he left. I turned and smiled when he opened his arms to me. We hugged and I snuggled into his chest. "I love your hugs." I said as I gently tightened my arms around him. "I know you do. I love your hugs too." He replied as he tightened his arms around me. My crush on him was getting stronger, but I didn't know how to tell him. After a while we broke the hug and walked inside. I closed the door and locked it behind me. I unplugged the Halloween lights because it wasn't dark out yet.

I watched as he grabbed a log of wood and added it to the fireplace. "Are you hungry?" I asked curiously. "Yeah, I think toast for breakfast was a bad decision." He replied with a small laugh. I agreed with him and went into the kitchen to heat up leftovers. I also mad us hot cups of tea to go with our meal. After eating we cuddled under a blanket and watched the fire in the fireplace. Today he had a red lip stain on. It was hard to not stare at his big lips. I loved the shape of them, especially his adorable cupids bow. "You've been particularly fascinated by my lips today haven't you?" He said, making me blush hard. I looked away feeling so embarrassed I just wanted to hide.

"Hey." He said softly as he gently turned my chin to make me look at him. "You look so cute when you blush." He said softly. His beautiful blue eyes glanced down at my lips, giving me butterflies. I felt my whole body heat up in embarrassment. "Can I kiss you?" He asked softly. He had moved so close to me that I could feel his warm breath tickle my lips. "Yes." I said softly. Our lips met in a tender kiss that warmed my insides and my bones. His lips felt so soft against mine. I shyly kissed him back because I hadn't kissed anyone before. When we broke the kiss and looked at each other I felt myself blush. His eyes sparkled and he brushed my cheek softly. We looked at each other for a bit before our lips met again.

"You're mine now." He whispered  between kisses. I melted when he said I was his. 'I've been yours for a while now and you didn't know it.' I thought in my head as we kept kissing.
