Beep beep beep
That was my alarm clock.

Was it 07:00 already? I swore I'd just fallen asleep.

I checked my phone for messages.

My lock screen was Rhea Ripley; gosh, I'd do anything to meet that wonderful woman.

No one had messaged me.

I put my phone back on the table, feeling slightly downcast.

I couldn't help but wonder why no one had texted me.

I went and showered, checking my phone again when I got back to the bedroom.

There was one message.

BESTAY 🤪 07:03
Hey, you awake?

I eagerly replied to her text.

You 07:10
Barely lmao

She'd gone offline by the time I'd replied, so I just walked to the kitchen.

I looked in the cereal cupboard for a packet of cornflakes.

I poured the remains of the packet into a blue bowl.

...

There was about three corn flakes.

I groaned.

Why do I have to run out of cornflakes when I want them? I asked myself mentally.

I opened the drawer beside the sink and pulled out the bag of bread.

I took one slice and shoved it in my mouth before going back to my room.

I checked my phone.

1 Missed Call from BESTAY 🤪 07:14

She'd texted me too.

BESTAY 🤪 07:15
Have you died or smth?

I sighed and texted her back.

You 07:19
Nope, just went to get breakfast so I didn't starve

Once again, she was offline so I continued getting ready for the day.

I pulled on some flared jeans, a white shirt with a low neck and a black denim jacket with a bunch of band logo patches on it.

I grabbed my pot of hair gel from my bedside cabinet / desk and slicked my hair back.

I looked at my phone once more.

She'd replied to my text.

BESTAY 🤪 07:24
Nice, nice.

I smiled.
