Everyone had finally reached an agreement and since the alcohol was already kicking in most of them felt tired and retreated to their bedrooms. Hope had to look around for the guest bedroom as no one bothered to show her the way and luckily it wasn't that hard to find. After a few minutes of making herself familiar with the space she heard a light knock on the door, Lizzie opened the door holding a few towels.

"You can use them in case you need to take a shower, which by the way maybe you should.."

"You're making a hobby out of this, aren't you?"

"Out of what?"

"Offending me."

"That's what I do best." Lizzie faked a smile and walked out of the room but Hope soon reached for the door.

"Thanks for the towels. Also, can you possibly point me to Josie's room? I forgot which one it was and I would like to say goodnight.."

"Absolutely not. She said she doesn't want to speak to you hence why I brought the towels myself."

"What..have I ever done to her?"

"Seriously Hope? Lord, give me some patience to face this."

"Whatever, I'll get my ass to bed. And so should you."

"Hallelujah."

Hope laid on the bed feeling a bit unfamiliar with the whole place and situation she was in. She knew Josie was laying somewhere very close to her, and they both probably thought about the nights they had slept by each other's side, but this felt different. It felt different in a way that was making them both suffer. Especially, Hope. She was soon off on her feet as she couldn't possibly fall asleep and headed downstairs poking around the kitchen until she noticed Alaric's office door open and a bit of light coming through.

"Ric? I'm feeling kind of restless.."

The man looked up from his desk, and placed the glass of whiskey down on it, which Hope noticed quick enough.

"I wasn't expecting you to be sleeping, to be completely honest."

"Mind if I join you?"

"Aren't you a little young for whiskey?"

"Come on, Ric. I'm a little young for a lot of stuff, that hasn't stopped them from happening."

"Hm. You've got a point."

The young girl took a seat across the man who actually served a glass of whiskey at her, without much thought about his actions. He was quite restless himself and probably needed the company.

"What's keeping you up, then?"

"I just want what I can't have."

"Don't we all, Hope?"
