When they arrived at the old dock they could hear chatter and laughter coming from the small group of their friends that were consuming alcohol and rambling about their lives for the last semester. Landon was the first to spot Hope and immediately turned towards her side with a wide smile.
"There you are, we've been waiting for you."
"Hi Landon, better late than never right.."
"What took you so long??" Lizzie said almost glaring at them.
"Long story. Would probably need some alcohol first."
"Hey everyone, this is my cousin Nick as most of you know."
"You're both welcomed to have a beer, but Hope remember to take it easy."
"I don't know why you'd say that.."
Everyone laughed while Hope practically snatched a beer away and Landon signaled towards her to follow him, as he wanted to speak to her privately. The girl followed with the cold beer in her hands and a questioning smile.
"What's up?"
"I just wanted to say I've missed you."
"Okay, bring it in."
Hope metled into another smile and opened her arms, she had to tip toe slightly to meet Landon's height who also wrapped his hands around her petite body in return, hugging her.
"I've missed you too. You missed a lot actually."
"I know. I can tell things have changed."
"So what's going on in your life now, Kirby?"
"If you're asking me if I've found the one, the answer is no. But life's still pretty interesting."
"Cool. All good things come with patience so don't worry you'll find that person soon."
"You sound almost too certain."
"I am. Because a guy like you deserves that more than any of us. So there's no doubt there."
"How come you're not in New Orleans?"
"For Josie..I'm visiting as if I'm practically living here now."
"Something's telling me you have found the one, then. Tell me about it.."
Hope pulled back from the boy's arms with a relaxed smile, in fact her eyes tried to trace Josie between her group of peers but it looked like she took off the moment Hope and Nick had arrived. Something that felt unsettling for the young Mikaelson.
"Yes, but she must be hiding from me."
"I think she's a bit upset. She was unusually quiet today, especially at the mention of your name."
"I better go and talk to her then. I tend to mess up a lot.."
"I'm surprised how you and her happend, to be completely honest."
"We just gotten close the moment we met at the camp and we slowly realized it was more than a friendship. It was hard getting through to her when I came back from my mom's recovery though, as she was already with someone else."
"It all worked out in the end, that's what matters. It's really nice to see you settled down with someone."
"Even if it's not you, hm?"
"Hope I just want the best for you. You've been through a lot and if Josie was that one person to mend all your pieces then let it be. You better check up on her actually. Seems like there's some more mending to do.."
