The drive to the airport found both twins being melancholic and quiet, gazing the passing images out of their window as if they were being forced to leave part of their lives behind. In fact, going over to Europe was always a big change that none of them were actually used to, even though they had taken this trip several times before to see their mother. Once they reached their destination their dad helped them carry most bags and they all walked over to the boarding point, with only a few hours left for their boarding time. Both girls were anxiously waiting for any of the Mikaelson's to turn up, to exchange the usual goodbyes but as time went on none of them showed up, and the Saltzman's both had mixed feelings about this.
Eventually, their dad encouraged them to move forward and stop waiting around for Nick and Hope, who were probably not coming, and he kissed both of them goodbye. After some more wisting time the girls finally boarded the plane.
"Here we go, wake me up when we get there."
"Are you really planning to sleep through out this whole flight? It'd be nice to have someone to talk to.."
"Well, I'm not in the mood to talk."
Josie sighed as Lizzie turned to her side, squeezing her squishy animal pillow in her hands, seeking comfort after her disappointment of Nick not coming to say goodbye to her. The truth is, ever since the Halloween party Lizzie had been giving the boy the cold shoulder about his preferences and both drifted apart.
On the other hand, Josie felt a heavy weight on her heart, she knew Hope had a hard time with goodbyes but she would give anything to see her one last time. To kiss those dreamy lips and feel her presence around her. So much that it actually hurt her to even think about the Mikaelson.
In the Mikaelson's estate, Hope had withdrawn to her room for several days in a row without bothering to each much or talk and her mom was starting to get really worried about Hope's lack of appetite and communication. When the girl shut herself off it usually meant she was struggling to deal with something, and Hayley knew this time she had to step up and do something about it. She decided to invite over Nicholas after school and cook them a meal, as that's what she did best.
"Hope! Nicholas's here to see you. Please come down to say hi."
"Ugh.."
Hope forced herself down and stopped by the kitchen door.
"I told you I want to be left alone, mother."
"It's rude to turn your cousin away, when he came all the way over to see you. Just please go and greet him for me?"
"Fine."
The Mikaelson stepped outside and spotted Nick sitting at the bottom of the stairs in her patio, looking quite miserable himself.
"You can sit down you know. I don't bite."
