Nick rushed outside of the office and pulled his phone out, thinking about his options. Hope's mom was already worried about her and he couldn't possibly let her know that Hope had stolen the car as that would make the woman more anxious so his next best option was Alaric. Maybe they could look for her together.
{On the phone}
"Heya Ric, I'm so sorry to disturb you it's probably not the best time but I need your help.."
"Oh, Nicholas. Make it quick, I'm on duty. What can I help you with?"
"Something's up with Hope.. she's missing and she has taken my car again. She's not at school and her mother can't find her either."
"What about we all give her some time? I'm sure she'll be back, it's just her usual acting up again I'm sure."
"She's never gone without a word, and she doesn't know how to drive that well what if she's in danger?"
"Now that you mention it. Have you tried calling her?"
"Obviously, like a hundred times. She's not picking up. Oh, and Ric. Today is the four year anniversary from her father's death."
"Wait, if that's true then I know where she might be. Look I'm on ambulance duty today I can have a quick look around town and keep you updated if I see her."
"Thanks, Ric. I'm at school but I'll keep my phone with me let me know as soon as you have news."
"Sure thing, kid. Speak soon."
Once Nick returned to class there was only ten minutes left until the period was finished. At break time, the boy paced up and down the corridor nervously waiting for his phone to ring until that same boy showed up and placed a hand over his shoulder squeezing him harshly.
"Looks like someone's in trouble. What have you done this time Nick?"
"Nothing, nothing. It's not about me."
"Then what is it about?"
"It's none of your business, dude. It's not like you'd help if I told you. All you do is run your god damn mouth."
"You know the Mikaelson's always had that reputation of not being friendly, you just live up to the name."
"Sorry, I'm just really stressed.."
"Then talk to me, man."
"It's Hope! She's missing and I'm worried something's must have happend to her.."
"Hey, she's probably fucking around with someone calm down..shame it's not me though.."
"You are seriously going to piss me off and I promise you I won't hold back next time!"
Nick shouted at the boy's face and the other instinctively pushed him back and down on the floor with a laugh.
"Easy, big guy. You couldn't hit me even if you tried."
