"Nicholas, what happend to you?"
"I'm fine, everything's fine don't worry about me... where's my cousin? Can I see her? How bad is the injury??"
"I think they'll let us see her now, follow me."
The three of them walked towards the room where Hope was facilitated and knocked on the door. The girl's weak voice invited them and her mother ran straight to the bed hugging her.
"I was so worried about you baby..."
"I'm alive and well, barely a scratch see? Nothing to worry about really. Fuck, you all look so depressed man."
"We were worried, Hope. You left with no sign and we didn't know where you've gone or if you were alright."
"I was looking all over the place for you.."
Nick approached the bed but Hope scoffed, barely hugging her mother back.
"Aren't you supposed to be in school little cousin? And what the fuck is up with your pretty face? Who do I need to punch?"
"No one..that's the least of your worries now Hope. Ric, do we know how bad the damage on her head is?"
"Well, not bad enough apparently."
"Hope..."
Hope sighed and turned to her side away from her mother and the rest of them. Alaric and Nick and gave each other a look and decided to step away and give Hope some time with her mother. Once it was only the two of them in the room Hayley crossed her arms and tried to speak to Hope who wasn't in the mood for a chat, instead she became quiet and gazed outside of the window.
"Don't ever do that again. If you wanted to see your father you should have.."
"My father is DEAD. I wasn't going to see him, I was simply getting drunk and driving to the cemetery it's not like that would do anything, I guess it just adds to the collection of my amazing achievements. Cross that one off the list!"
"Hope, your dad can still hear you and he might as well be watching over when you don't even know it. He wouldn't want you doing reckless things like that."
"Hah, now you just sound like that Saltzman bitch. Honestly, mother just go home already. I think I might spend the night here and I already have a headache, no need for another one."
"This is unbelievable.."
Hope gave a fake smile and laid on her side again, her mother walked towards the door in disappointment. It seemed like no matter her efforts she couldn't get to her at all so she decided to leave as requested. She knew her daughter was hard headed so she decided not to push things when she was obviously out of control.
