Another week at Mystic Falls High had gone by with the twins trying their best to balance school work and social life, although it wasn't common practice for them to go out during weekdays, so the weekend was a good time to enjoy some of that free time.
After some house chores and studying Josie finally made her way to her bedroom to get changed as another date with Jade had popped up that evening. It wasn't long before she heard Nick's car pulling up and someone knocking on their door, Josie sighed and hoped she wouldn't have to cross paths with the Mikaelson's again.
"Hope welcome, let's get straight to it."
"Actually Nick was invited over to spend some time with Lizzie, is that okay with you Ric?"
"Of course, he can come in too. I'll get some snacks out for you all please wait for me at my office."
Hope proceeded at the office, feeling rather unsettled with the fact that she would have to come across Josie again and it didn't take much for Alaric to notice how distracted the girl was after an hour of messy work.
"Something's definitely bothering you, Hope. You can't even get the basics right today. And I don't think I'm doing that much of a bad job."
"No, you're right. It's definitely not your fault. I'm just..distracted. Sorry."
"You shouldn't let distractions get in the way of your goals, whatever it is, put it past you while you're working."
"I can't really, when the distraction is in this house."
"Oh? What's this about?"
"Come on, Ric. You can't possibly tell me you don't know about me and your daughter."
"I figured it was Josie. I just wanted to hear it from you."
"Yeah, sorry.."

"You don't need to apologize. Maybe to her, but not to me. Actually, stay here for a moment I need to go get something."
"Okay?"
The man exited his office and headed to the living room where Lizzie, Josie and Nick were getting acquainted with each other and their laughs echoed through out the whole house.
"Sorry, can I borrow Josie for a quick task?"
"Is this gonna take long? Because I have a date to go to in a bit."
"This is more important."
Josie got off the couch with a curious expression over her face, following her dad into his office unknowingly. Then her eyes spotted Hope and she was about to turn and leave when Alaric closed the door behind them and spoke up.
"Listen up, you two. You are going to do a task for me but you have to work together to complete it. Since both of you want to get into med school, and you're practically following the same courses it will be no problem. First, I am putting a short film on and then you'll have to take a quiz but if one of you gets an answer wrong you'll take it again."
