Chapter 27

"Sure na ba 'yon? Hindi na pwedeng mabago?" I smiled faintly at Lily's question.

Nasa But First Coffee kami, a cafe near our university. Daphnie and I were running errands for our upcoming graduation while Lily and Millison still have class later kaya hindi na rin kami lumayo sa university. Sakto namang sabay ang break ng dalawa kaya we decided to go here muna saglit.

And we're talking about me and Daphnie's plan after graduation. I just told them that I'm going to leave this country. Sure na iyon. In fact, after graduation ay tutulungan na ako ni Kuya Davis na ayusin ang mga papeles ko.

Mom and Dad already decided na doon na ako sa Canada mags-stay kasama sila. Sa Canada na rin muna ako as I review and prepare for my board exam para raw wala na akong ibang iintindihin kundi ang magreview lang kaysa sa mag-isa ako sa condo and I need to handle some things bukod sa pagrereview.

I just don't know yet kung magt-take rin ako ng exam sa Canada right after ko mag-take ng exam dito sa Pilipinas – or kung sa Pilipinas nga ako magt-take ng board exam or on some other countries na.

Magulo pa ang ilang detalye at nagdedesisyon pa lang ang parents ko, but one thing is for sure, I'm gonna leave Philippines to see and live at Canada after my graduation next week.

We were expecting na rin naman this, my girls were just surprised na tuloy na nga at sure na. And about Daphnie, I still don't know her plans. If sasama siya sa akin or she'll stay here since they have a firm din naman dito sa Pilipinas, and may maiiwan siyang family at boyfriend dito unlike me na wala naman.

And it's perfectly fine with me if she will choose to stay here. She may be my bestfriend and cousin but she has her own life too. I don't want to take that from her, and besides, I think I will be good naman there.

"The date of my farewell isn't sure pa naman, girls. And I will surely spend time with you all pa before I leave," I assure them afterwards. "Basta and nabanggit lang ni Mom ay si Kuya Davis na raw ang bahala sa akin at sa mga aayusin namin after graduation."

"Aww," Lily sniffed. "We will miss you, Cams."

"Paano na kami pag tinatarayan kami ng pinsan mo?" ani naman ni Millison na siyang nagpairap sa pinsan ko.

"Let's not do this right now girls." I chuckled, trying to hide the pain cause ng pag-iwan ko sa girlfriends ko. "We still have lots of time to spend together naman before I go."

We decided to change topic so the atmosphere and the vibes will change too. Wala pang ilang saglit ay puro tawanan na ulit kami. Ni hindi namin alam na ganoon kabilis nag-shift ang mood ng usapan.

"Kapag talaga nagsasaya ka, laging may asungot na dadating," Daphnie suddenly hissed.

Lumingon ako sa pinsan ko and she's already pissed off. Naka krus na ang arms niya habang masama ang tingin sa kung saan. Sinundan ko ang tinitingnan niya and saw Raiker and his friends going to our direction, probably eyeing the vacant table next to ours.

Nasa labas kami ng But First Coffee and the next table from ours is the only table available, though medyo magkakalayo naman ang table dito sa labas than sa loob.

"It's fine, Daphnie. As long as they were not doing anything stupid," I said at inalis na ang tingin sa apat na lalaki.

"As if," Daphnie groaned.

I understand saan nanggagaling ang galit ng pinsan ko. For the past few days, hindi nakinig sa kaniya si Raiker. Raiker keeps coming on where I am.

Siguro nakakailang beses niya akong nilalapitan sa isang araw, even sa classroom namin kaya wala akong takas. And he's obviously wanting me back, dahil sa kaniya na mismo iyon nanggaling.

I once became his stupid pet, and I won't let that happen again. He might trick me the first time, but I'm not a fool to repeat the same mistake.

If he thinks he can win me back by his stupid games, mushroom tricks na pasulpot sulpot sa kung saan ako nandoon with his puppy eyes and pleading smiles, well, I've learned my lesson and I've done enough. I won't let him make me feel and make me look stupid again.
