As Ali made it to the club the next morning it was open as promised by Rex. She walked in, letting the door close slowly behind her as she walked towards Doug's booth, letting her bag drop to the floor she brought out her laptop before stepping up to the booth and looking over the decks that were at her disposal. She plugged her laptop into the sound system and heard the familiar 'humm' of the speakers waiting to be used, she continued on as she went through her files before finding the one she was looking for.
"That should do." She muttered as she pressed play and the beginning melody of Pharrell's 'Marilyn Monroe' began to float through the speakers.
Alice jumped down from the booth and did a rusty pirouette towards the middle of the dance floor before kicking off her shoes to the side letting her body be taken over by the melody, bringing back old memories of her ballerina days, as she let emotion flow and the world around drown out, her true passion for dance showing through. No fancy moves, no battles, just dance.
As the beat changed she became explosive and propelled herself forward into a triple flip before rolling to the floor and by placing both hands firmly on the floor pushed herself up into a handstand and twisting herself around so that she landed on her feet, as the end of the song came near Ali smiled and threw herself into a short sprint before throwing herself into a cartwheel, pushing off of it into a somersault and then into a three-hundred and sixty pencil twist before landing soundly on her feet as the song ended and silence enveloped the room.
She took a few minutes to catch her breath before stretching out her arms in front of her and twisting her torso left and right to loosen up her muscles more.
"God, I'm rusty." She said to herself as she blew some hair out of her face and moved towards her bag.
Alice's reasoning for Rex allowing her into the club was because she had a gift for Doug that she had been meaning to give to him since her first few nights at the club. She grabbed the disc of a few new tracks from her bag and placed it onto his booth while she retrieved her phone before turning off the whole system. Today she was making her way to the gym to try and see if she could bag herself the job as the gymnastics coach that Rex had told her about, seeing as she no longer had a job thanks to the man himself.
She picked up her bag as she walked out of the door and made her way out onto the street, Annette had told her that morning that the Gym was along one of the back roads behind the town hall and that she wouldn't be able to miss it. Ali made her way towards the town square with her mind wandering over the beautiful town as she caught her reflection in a shop as she wandered past.
Once Rex had walked her home the night before she wished him goodnight at the door before Annette helped her clean up her face as she tried to escape upstairs. She had sat down at the dining room table with Annette's first aid kit spread across it as she cleaned her scratches, luckily Sharlene's fake nails hadn't cut deep into her skin so the scratches were superficial but Annette still had her questions. Alice had gotten another warning from Annette about Dylan and Kat making her wonder more on what was so big and bad about them.
As she walked along the street she began to notice herself going further into the backstreets of town, away from the main streets and shops and more into the neighbourhood, and from Ali's perspective it looked tough. She could see the toll the loss of money to the town was having on its inhabitants with boarded up houses from owners who either left or could no longer afford them, tags covering walls and buildings from a few gangs that must inhabit the area. Gardens were also overgrown and Ali looked over it all, street after street, with a grim expression. She wondered, how could a town so full of life, be struggling so badly?
She shook her head from the confusion of the situation and focused more on finding the gym. Ali found the gym just as she was passing by a cluster of boarded up abandoned buildings which the gym was placed right in the middle of.
