Alice was in a dilemma, she’d just made her way away from Fergus’s with some of the worst news she had heard in awhile. A month. That was how long Alice was going to be here for and maybe even longer. Fergus had told her that for the part that was needed for her truck it needed to be shipped over from Europe, and then even more time had to be put into the truck until it was fitted, Alice didn’t blame Fergus because he was only doing his job but she couldn’t help but be frustrated. She had other places she wanted to go to and the longer she stayed here the longer she was missing out on other things to experience.
She decided to try and take her mind off of things by going over to the club, she walked down the street in her usual sports bra and a loose top with dark cargo trousers. Her hair was down as usual and as straight as ever and it lifted slightly in the breeze. She rounded the corner to the club and stopped when she saw Tate and the group of children on the corner of the street right outside.
“Well if it isn’t the boy who thought I didn’t know what I was talking about.” She stated as she stood on the sidewalk in front of them.
“Hey guys look its Alice, our stalker.” Tate teased with a smile.
Today all of them were dressed in sports gear but it was nothing like Alice wore, there was a mixture of shorts and jeans, vest top and hoodies and you could tell they all hadn’t really understood about some of the different dance styles that were out there.
“You’re the one’s loitering outside where I work.” She said with a smile.
“You work here? At Insania?” He asked curiously.
“Yes I do, so what are you guys doing here anyway?” She asked looking at all of them.
“Loitering.” Tate answered using Alice’s word from earlier.
“Well then at least loiter in style. You, what’s your name?” Alice asked as she gestured to the girl standing next to a boom box.
“Kyra.” She stated with a drawl.
“Well then Kyra how about you drop me and Tate a nice big fat beat?” Alice said with a laugh.
Kyra, who wore a pair of cargo trousers and a vest top, reached down to the Boom Box and flipped through some songs until she found a song that she thought was appropriate for what Alice asked. Kyra placed the boom box on a bench that was placed up against the wall of Insania and sat on the top of the bench as the rest of the group of children either leant against the wall or decided to join in with Tate and Alice. There were eleven of them in all not including Tate and she had to admit that they all looked like a bunch of misfits but Alice could see with her own eyes that their dynamic was something that could evolve into something big.
Alice bumped shoulders with Tate as they stood on the now empty sidewalk outside of Insania with two girls that decided to join in with her and a boy that stood next to Tate. Shawn Desman’s ‘Sexy’ flowed out of the Boom Boxes speakers and Alice started to move to the beat as it blared around the whole road and echoed off the buildings.
Alice started moving in harsh movements with the music as she rocked her head back and forth then rocked her body up and down, and lifted her head up quickly and started clapping her hands from side to side above her head as Tate moved forward and started dancing. He was a body popper for sure as he started rolling his wrists and loosely clapping his hands, his legs became jelly as he let his knees bend and bounced his knees off the pavement then span back up as he kept in time. He turned and gestured for Alice to do better by flicking the front of his shirt and raising an eyebrow at Alice.
She smirked and moved forward onto the pavement that now served as their makeshift dance floor and gestured for the two girls to come up behind her. She started moving and her hair splayed across her face as she moved her head from side to side and then dropped to the floor, she used her arms to carefully place herself on her head and she span around letting her legs bend as she held onto nothing, she span one final time and brought her arms down, she used them to spring herself up and then she was dancing again.
