The next night Alice was back working her shift at Insania with as much energy as ever, she was itching to dance, had been for the last couple of days, but she knew she couldn’t since she was working. The music was pumping and her blood moved with it as she danced to and from her tables and served the customers of Insania.

Alice was moving onto her next table when she caught a familiar face out of the corner of her eye, she stopped and turned with her mouth agape as she stared at Tom and Jonathan that sat in their own booth just across from her.

“Tom, Jonathan!” She exclaimed as she tucked her tray underneath her arm and walked over to them with a bounce in her step.

“It’s great to see you Alice.” Jonathan said as he tipped his head to her.

“Oh Alice I’ve missed you, there aint no other waitress in this town like you.” Tom drawled as he looked up at her with big eyes.

“Oh Tom, you’re such a flirt. How did you guys get back in here after last time?” Alice asked as she leant against the side of the booth.

“It’s a week waiting period for any club around here to be let back in after a fight.” Jonathon told her simply.

“Well it’s good to see you back around, I have to get back to work so I’ll talk to you boys later.” Alice said as she gave them a smile and then began to walk away.

“I miss you already!” Tom teased as he yelled out to her.

Alice laughed and turned towards the two men, blew them a kiss, and then got back to work in getting and placing orders.

She placed her tray down on the bar and waved over one of the barmen, Charlie, whom she had gotten to know in her few weeks at Insania. He was dressed in the same uniform as Reilly that consisted of a black waistcoat that exposed some of his chest and stomach and a pair of low hanging baggy trousers, the only difference was that he wore a silver chain around his neck and wore eyeliner like some of the other bartenders around.

Alice thought he was cute in her own way with his super light strawberry blonde hair and killer-watt smile she felt her heart melt for him even if she didn’t think of him in that way,  he was only around twenty years old and Reilly was training him to be just as good as him.

“Hey Charlie, how are you doing?” She asked as she leant against the counter while he got her drinks ready.

“I’m doing just great Miss Alice, Reilly’s teaching me good an proper and I feel right at home here.” He told her excitedly as he rushed around with a grin on his face.

“That’s great, I’m happy for you Charlie and I know you’ll do great working here.” Alice told him with a genuine smile.

“Thank you, ma’am.” Charlie mumbled as a faint blush crept up his cheeks.

Alice chuckled and bid Charlie farewell while picking up her tray and moving quickly towards her table, she served them their drinks and took her tips graciously before moving back to the bar and waiting for any sign of her next table wanting anything.

Alice was gazing around the club and so didn’t notice Reilly leaning against the bar, she turned and jumped in fright when she saw how close his face was to hers. Reilly leaned over and kissed her cheek, took her tray from her and placed it behind the bar, then whipped his cleaning cloth around and let it rest on his shoulder.

“It’s time for your break.” He told her when she started to protest.

“Since when do I have a break?” Alice asked in protest.
