Rex had worked her hard in the past week that they had spent together, they practised from dawn until dusk and then moved to his house to continue their practise out on his back porch until the later hours. He worked her hard and all she had done in the past week was live and breathe the ballroom, she spent her nights flopping down onto her bed and falling straight to sleep.
Luckily with her truck up and running again it was easier for her to get around town and back from Rex's in the later hours, he didn't want her walking home on her own so he saw her to her truck and asked her to call when she was back at the B&B. In the past week, she had felt herself growing closer and closer to him, seeing a side of him that he only allowed her to see. She felt as if the rest of the world didn't matter when they danced with one another.
It was the weekend and Rex had kindly decided to give her a break over the weekend, they had gotten their first routines down for their Foxtrot, Waltz, Viennese Waltz and their Jive. Even though Rex hadn't told her what their first dances would be they were prepared just in case. Now, the ballroom dances were her strongest, she was slightly afraid to move into the Latin section but Rex continued to reassure her.
They had two weeks left until the end of the month, one week to teach her the Latin style and the next to rehearse their dances, they were short on time. It was the tightest deadline she had ever worked too for a routine before.
"Ali."
The sound of Bryanna's voice brought her out of her thoughts as she snapped her head up to meet her eyes over the table, they were in the middle of breakfast and through her tiredness she had fallen into her thoughts.
"You've been staring into your glass of orange juice for the past ten minutes. Where have you been lately, I come to see you and you completely disappear on me?" Brie asked with a frown marring her brow and a smile on her face.
"I've been busy at the gym." Ali explained, not telling Brie the truth was killing her as they didn't keep secrets from one another.
Alice had agreed to keep their entry into the competition a secret to add to the surprise of the two of them dancing together, Ali secretly thought it was because he wanted to surprise his family by seeing him dance again.
"I've checked in at the gym to try and find you but you weren't there. Gavin's had to take over teaching your lessons." Brie continued.
"I'm doing you a favour really, it means that you get to spend more time with Henry." Ali teased, switching the conversation so that Brie wasn't interrogating her any longer.
"I see what you're trying to do but don't worry. I'll find out what you're hiding from me." Brie told her with a devious look.
Alice shook her head at her best friend and took a final bite of her eggs before getting up and placing her breakfast things in the dishwasher in the kitchen. She heard a squeal from the dining room as she shut the dishwasher and walked out of the kitchen with an amused smile on her face.
Henry had finally awoken and made his way into the dining room for breakfast, stealing Brie's bacon from her plate and stuffing it into her mouth. Alice watched as Brie smacked at his naked chest with a blush on her cheeks before continuing to reprimand him. If one thing was for sure Ali knew when Brie liked a man, and she liked Henry for sure.
"I hope you're not ogling at Henry's body, sweetheart. I'd be mighty jealous if ya were."
Rex's southern draw into her ear made her jump, his arms wrapped around her waist as he dipped down and planted a kiss on her neck. She smiled genuinely and squeezed his hands that clasped at her stomach.
