Alice woke up to a bright, blisteringly hot day as she woke up to a stuffy room and a layer of sweat covering her brow and parts of her body. She kicked off her covers and stretched out her limbs before reaching up and opening up her window to try and let the stuffiness out and some clean air inside.
She collected a pile of neatly folded airy clothes for the day and walked to the bathroom while still in her pyjamas, since it was early and Alice got up at the same time everyday she had got into the routine of taking an early shower since no one was ever awake at the time she woke up and then she would go and make herself breakfast then do whatever she had to do for the day.
Alice showered quickly underneath the cool water and made sure to wash her hair thoroughly before letting herself stand underneath the water for a few more seconds and then turned the water off. She stepped out and quickly dried herself and did her womanly things where necessary before pulling on her underwear, along with her clothes before standing in front of the sink and brushing her teeth. She let the minty taste overcome her mouth and breathed through her mouth after she was finished, she brushed through her still wet hair and pulled it above her head in a high ponytail while brushing out her fringe.
Alice gathered her dirty clothes and toiletries into her arms and then walked back to her room where she placed it into her dirty washing pile and placed her toiletries on her bedside table. She pulled out a pair of flat beige gladiator sandals before hitching up the floor length skirt she wore and stepped into them, Alice smoothed out the sunshine yellow vest top that she wore and let her skirt just brush the floor. Alice picked up her gym bag and stuffed a change of shorts and trainers inside along with her phone and purse just in case the need for them came.
Since it was early and no one would be awake yet Alice decided to skip breakfast and eat later on so that she could get everything she needed done before the day got too hot and she wouldn’t want to do anything.
Alice snatched her ray-bans from the pile that was starting to form on her suitcase and placed them over her eyes, she made her way outside with her gym bag hanging from her shoulder and looked out at the morning in front of her from the porch and took a moment to just take it all in.
The market was already set up and there were few people milling around, some observing and others buying things. The vendors were under the cover of the rising hot sun and stood at their stalls in anticipation for the customers that the coming day would bring and whether or not they would be able to sell what they needed to make a profit. Alice took her time walking down the porch steps and let her eyes adjust through her sunglasses before strolling down the path of the bed and breakfast and starting down the pavement towards the town square to look around the market before she had to go to the club to teach Tate and his crew their first lesson.
Alice walked past a clothes stall and gave it a fleeting glance as it didn’t hold any interest for her but stopped when she came to the flower stall that she had past a few days before, there was a huge selection of different flowers and the stall was filled with bright violets to flaming oranges. She leant down to inhale the scent from a bouquet of white roses and smiled softly as she closed her eyes at the pleasant smell when it invaded her senses. Alice had always loved flowers and today was no exception, Alice smiled at the vendor as he made her an offer but she refused and moved on after giving him a smile.
She strolled down the rest of the market and browsed aimlessly until she realised there was nothing left to look at, it didn’t bother her though as she walked over to the town centres clock. She walked around it slowly and let her fingertips trail along the cold stone as the sun started to warm it and lifted her head towards the sun as the tiniest of breezes blew past. Alice stopped when she stopped on the other side of the clock and leant in the small piece of shade there was as she looked back down at the market she had just walked by.
