“Stop.” Alice said as the people in front of her, children to teenagers all struggled with what she had asked them to do.

They’d been going at it for an hour and there was still hardly any progress, all of them were having trouble on trying to focus and then perform the few moves she had showed them in a group but there was some major work to be done. Tate was having trouble with his movements while Kyra couldn’t get the steps and the rest of the group were just trying their best.

They stopped when they heard her and Alice put her hand under her chin as she thought about something that she had realised, they were all different and each had their own style and ideas about what they wanted to do. She’d seen it in New York when she had come across a gang of dancers that were made up of huge numbers but somehow used each of their abilities and differences to make them stronger.

“What’s the matter?” Tate asked in a confused tone as he looked at Alice.

“I was stupid to not think of it before.” Alice muttered as she slapped her forehead.

“Think of what?” He asked further.

“You’re all different. That’s what makes you all unique, because you’re different. Each of you has your own style that can’t be changed so you have to come together and communicate.” She stated.

“Well you’re our teacher, where do we start?” Kyra asked with a smile.

“Let’s start by seeing what you can do.” Alice said with a smile.

She walked over to Doug’s DJ booth and jumped up onto it, his system looked easy to use with a laptop, turntables and a number of other things that Alice also knew how to use. She watched as the children formed a line against one of the walls and all twelve of them including Tate waited.

“You ready to show me what you got?” She asked and the group nodded.

Alice looked through the songs Doug had on the laptop and played the very familiar Vybz Kartel’s ‘Go Go Wine’. She turned up the volume until it pounded from the speakers but wasn’t too loud, Alice watched as two of the four girls that were in the group stepped forward. Alice had learned that their names were Jessica and Ashley; both had similar dancing styles and danced to the beat of the song with fluid movements that could have had something to do with Ballet, they were soft compared to the rest of the group and Alice wondered how they had become involved with each other.

Kyra came out next as Ashley and Jessica moved themselves back in line, she was also accompanied by a girl named Jack. Now both girls, from what Alice had seen, were completely different and when she said different she meant different ends of the scale different. Kyra was like her sisters in every way possible, she looked like them and danced like them but Alice hadn’t gotten to know any of them yet so she wasn’t sure on her personality. She looked every bit the African American like her sisters and her moves were similar to them too, it was just that she was a younger version.

Now Jack, Jack was different. She was shy but when she danced she showed her every emotion, which at the moment and most of the times Alice had seen her dance, was aggression. She was one of the most skilled and spirited Krumper’s Alice had seen in about a year along with the fact that it was unusual for a girl to be a Krumper but Alice loved it even though she didn’t do it herself. Jack was different to the other girls though because her hair was a flaming red made Alice’s red locks look like strawberry blonde and it reminded her of Richie.

Both girls moved around the room, each dancing in their different styles, with ease. Kyra bent her knees and rotated her hips while Jack moved and rocked her body to let out all of her pent up aggression. Alice could understand what it was like to be a teenager, they were hard times and the change of hormones caused problems every now and again. Both girls moved back into the line then and three boys came out.
