"Quick! Take a picture before they wake up." A familiar voice whispered excitedly.

Alice felt herself begin to wake up as she realized her and Rex were no longer alone. She rubbed at her eyes as she felt Rex stretch behind her and opened her eyes slowly, squinting at the light of the morning. Both her and Rex had fallen asleep in the hammock after they had been talking for hours, getting to know each other better.

She looked around and groaned as she noticed the presence of Bryanna and Henry in her line of sight before making a move to sit up. She was stopped however but a strong and thick arm wrapping around her waist and pulling her back into an equally strong chest.

"What do you want?" Rex asked grumpily, not opening his eyes.

"Time for church, it's a Sunday after all." Henry said cheerily as he smiled down at the pair.

"I don't wanna go to church." Rex grumbled as he turned his head away.

"It was either me or your mamma that came down here. Now let Miss Alice go so that she can get ready." He told Rex.

Rex continued his grumbled complaints while Henry held out a hand so that Alice could climb out of the hammock. She did and took the clothes that Bryanna held in her hands hurriedly as she made a beeline for Rex's bathroom, a blush making its way onto her cheeks.

She brushed her teeth with the spare toothbrush that Bryanna had brought with her and quickly changed into the grey pencil skirt that she had brought for her and paired it with her white collared shirt and a pair of grey suede heels. As always when she went to church Ali normally piled her hair above her head but today she let the curls stay wild and curly.

She left the bathroom and walked back to the living room to find Bryanna and Henry waiting for her and Rex brushing his teeth in the kitchen sink. He had combed his hair and styled it along with changing into grey suit trousers, a white shirt and grey waistcoat which conveniently match her own clothes.

Ali eyed Bryanna who smiled sheepishly at her before pulling her into a hug.

"Your mum called." She told her softly in her ear.

"I'm not surprised." Ali said with a relieved sigh as she stepped away from her.

"She said to either come home or their going to come and get you." Brie told her carefully.

"I'm twenty-three years old, Brie. Let them come and try." Alice told her with a laugh as she gave her shoulder a squeeze.

Bryanna looked at her with wide eyes as she took in Ali's happy demeanour with the subject of her family before Alice laughed at her more, putting a hand to her mouth to stop her giggles.

"I have some explaining to do, we'll talk after church." Ali told her before walking out of the door.

"We'll take my truck." Rex stated as everyone moved to the driveway.

Rex's truck was huge on the outside, built like a tank but cosy on the inside with plush leather and suede seats and a huge centre console that held an array of different functions. It was a man's machine.

Ali moved towards the backseats with Brie as Henry moved to the passenger side when Rex stopped him, holding the door in his hands before directing Henry towards Alice door and helping Ali up into the passenger's seat. The truck was too high for her. She smiled at his action towards her as she buckled her seatbelt.

The ride to church was filled with Alice telling Brie everything about what had happened with her mother, after nearly nine years her best friend deserved to know the truth as to why Alice had given up everything. Henry comforted Brie with an arm around her shoulder as she sobbed in pain for her best friend but Ali explained that it wasn't something she was ready to share until now.
