The room was very pretty, Alice had to admit. With white walls and wood panelling the room was a complete opposite of the dark interior that made up the rest of the bed and breakfast. The room itself was square and light reflected off  most of the surfaces giving it a very airy fell, there were a few dabs of light green littered around the room whether it be the curtains that fell from the ceiling to the floor, the two armchairs sat on either side of the room or the bed set that covered the single bed in the alcove in the shape of an archway on one wall of the room.

Alice liked it, hell it was a nice place compared to some of the others she’d stayed in but she learnt to appreciate what she was given and live with it until she could do something about it.

She pulled her gym bag from where she had kept it held on her shoulder and placed it on the floor then walked further into the room. She took note of the white carpet and slipped her shoes off just in case they left any dirt, she let her fingers brush against the armchair closest to her as she made her way over to the bed. She sat down onto it and bounced up slightly from where the springs held her weight, feather pillows and a woollen throw rested on the bed to provide as much comfort as possible.

The sun had finally set and it was dark out so Alice couldn’t and didn’t see the point of going out to explore when she didn’t know the town that well, she would ask Annette tomorrow to show her around if she had time and maybe help her to find a job, even if that didn’t work it was worth a shot and Alice had nothing to lose.

Alice got up from where she sat on the bed and pulled the curtains to her temporary home for the next few days closed then walked back over to her bag. She had a pair of pyjamas and a fresh set of clothing in there for situations such as this, she would have to go and collect her suitcases from Fergus’s garage tomorrow since they were in the bed of her truck.

She changed quickly and pulled out her phone, turning it back on. She had seven messages and sixteen missed calls from her parents and a message from her best friend Bryanna, she made the decision to not come with Alice since she was still a part of the dance troupe that Alice was kicked out of and Alice didn’t want her to lose out on the opportunities the troupe would bring her.

Alice quickly messaged Bryanna back to let her know she was okay then placed her phone next to her on the little table beside her bed. She pulled back the covers and settled herself down until she was comfortable and let her head lay on the pillow, after a long day’s drive she could finally rest; and before she knew it she was out.

The sun was shining brightly on Alice’s next day in Melody Hills and she woke with a smile on her face, she lifted her head from her pillow and checked the time on her phone. It was nearly seven and luckily Alice hadn’t overslept and missed breakfast, the day looked like it was going to be bright.

Alice jumped out of bed and changed quickly into a sports bra with a dark pink hooded crop top and a pair of beige cargo trousers that she rolled one leg up to her knee, her whole mid section was on show but she didn’t mind since this was how she dressed normally depending on the weather. She pulled on her Nike trainers and picked up her phone and room key along with her toiletry bag then set off to the bathroom that was down the hallway.

Alice worked quickly to brush her hair until it was straight and came down to just below her assets at its natural length. She brushed her teeth and washed her face thoroughly then packed all of her things back away into her bag, she didn’t wear makeup because it was a luxury that she couldn’t afford to waste money on...and besides she would sweat it off when she danced anyway.

She quickly dropped her toiletry bag back in her room then locked the door and made her way downstairs. She heard many different people talking and decided to follow them and see what she found. She walked around a corner which was across the hall and found herself standing in a dining room filled with a lady whom she didn’t know and two men who looked older than her.
