“Shanice, Lyric you really don’t have to do this.” Alice groaned as she buried her head in Shanice’s quilt while she lay on her bed.

Alice was playing Barbie Doll for the twin team of Shanice and Lyric and she didn’t like it one bit, Don’t get her wrong Alice loved to dress up in nice things and wear makeup from time to time but Shanice and Lyric were going overboard.

She had spent most of her day with Tallulah and the guy’s at the elderly woman’s house and Alice had learned and gained a lot of ammunition against Rex if she ever wanted to use it. Tallulah had hooted with laughter as she exchanged a joke with Henry and watched with a pleased smile as she demanded Alice dance for her which she did with a smile on her face the whole time, it had been fun but it ended when time began to catch up on them and Alice had to get ready for her date.

Tallulah had wished her well and told her to remember her Irish Courage with her grandson, part of her didn’t understand what Tallulah meant but after awhile Alice figured it out. Tallulah was warning her about Rex’s temper but Alice wasn’t afraid, she had a temper of her own that lay dormant and hadn’t been awakened in a few years but it was there and if she was pushed far enough then it would break free, no matter how much Irish Courage she put into it.

So now there she was in Shanice and Lyrics room with piles and piles of clothes around her as they moved around like whirlwinds to try and put together an outfit that would knock Rex’s socks off, they had told her that she could and wouldn’t go in her jogging bottoms and crop top because there was no way that she could do that and impress him at the same time. Alice didn’t see the problem in what she would wear normally but as soon as the words had left her mouth the two sisters had gotten to work and hadn’t stopped since. Sometimes Alice wished that she could be alone for more than a few hours a day but in a town like Melody Hills there was no chance of that.

She sighed and lifted her head from Shanice’s quilt then continued to watch the sisters as they threw clothes over their shoulders and they landed in a pile around their room.

“I can just go back to the bed and breakfast and find something to wear.” Alice grumbled under her breath.

“Tell you what, How about you go back to the bed and breakfast and we’ll meet you there with your outfit?” Lyric suggested.

“I guess I could, I do need a shower.” She said as she gestured to her mud covered trousers.

“If you do shower I want you to wait till we get there, I’m doing your hair.” Shanice said without an argument.

“I can do my own hair!” Alice protested.

“Nope, I’m doing it whether you like it or not. You gotta look pretty for your date.” Shanice said as she turned her head to Alice and grinned at her.

“I’m sure Rex won’t care about what I decide to wear.” Alice muttered under her breath.

“Well of course he would, I mean when he was wi-.” Lyric started.

“What she means is that obviously Rex would care what your wearing, he isn’t the oblivious.” Shanice cut in.

She pulled Alice from her bed and grabbed her wrist, Alice stumbled after her as Shanice rushed her down the stairs of her house and out the door. Her shoes were shoved into her hands by Lyric and she stood there as the two sisters stood in front of her with sheepish grins.

“Sorry about rushing you out of here Alice but you should really go have some time to yourself and let us find you a perfect outfit. We’ll make sure we're there before Rex is!” Shanice exclaimed and slammed the door in her face.
