Vernon: cheating

You and Mingyu have been dating for about six months. Things have been going great until recently. Mingyu has been acting weird for a few weeks now and it's starting to unsettle you. Not knowing what's going on with your boyfriend you turned to your best friend, Soonyoung, who listens to your every worry. He tells you not to worry about Mingyu, knowing he's just busy trying to manage a job and university.

While you and Soonyoung are sitting in the university library pretending to study Vernon walks up to the two of you and plops down on the couch across from you. He leaned forward and quietly asked you and Soonyoung to go to a house party he's throwing tonight. Since it was Friday everyone was going to be there. Soonyoung instantly accepted the invitation but you hesitated. You knew Mingyu wouldn't appreciate you going to a party without him.

"Come on, it'll be fun." Vernon said with a toothy grin and a cheeky wink.

You eventually gave in and agreed to go as long as Soonyoung went with you. Vernon waved you both bye and left the library. Now that you had plans tonight you and Soonyoung left the library early to go home and get ready. You were nervous about going to the party tonight until you received a text from Mingyu saying he was going to be there too. With the good news you made sure you looked extra pretty tonight before you left your house.

Soonyoung picked you up at your house and took you to Vernon's across town. The anxiety building inside you on the car ride to Vernon's house was eating you alive. This was going to be the first time in two weeks that you get to see your boyfriend. When you arrived at the house it was already packed with university students partying and having a good time. Someone opened the car door for you and you were hoping it was Mingyu but it wasn't. Vernon held his hand out for you to grab as you climbed out of the front passenger seat of Soonyoung's car. He seemed extra gentlemanly tonight.

Vernon gave you a hug that felt more friendly than you were expecting. You pulled yourself away without trying to seem like you were uncomfortable but definitely felt so. Soonyoung put his hand on your back and ushered you inside, sensing your growing anxiety pouring off of you.

"I'm sure Mingyu's waiting for you inside." Soonyoung reassured you.

You nodded your head and forced a smile, your heart rate skyrocketing when Soonyoung opened the front door to Vernon's house. There were dozens upon dozens of people dancing, chatting, playing drinking games and so on. You were beginning to regret coming out tonight since Mingyu wasn't at your side to calm you down. Soonyoung does what he can as your best friend but it's not the same. You skimmed the crowd and didn't see Mingyu anywhere, growing more anxious. You pulled your phone out to call him when you saw a text message from Mingyu.

He said he ended up having to stay later at work and wasn't going to make it to the party after all. This news upset you. You felt like Mingyu was avoiding you by not making a point to see you in person these past two weeks. The anxiety in you was melting away and being replaced with anger. You showed Soonyoung the message then walked over to the kitchen to find alcohol. Wonwoo was in the kitchen pouring mixed drinks into red solo cups for people.

Wonwoo's face visibly lit up when you walked up. A warm smile appeared on his stone-like face as he handed you a drink. Soonyoung saw this and grabbed your shoulder, turning you to face him with a serious look on his face.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" He asked you.

Soonyoung knows you well, considering the two of you have been best friends for many years. He knows how low your alcohol tolerance is and thinks drinking in the sour mood you're in is a bad idea. But you didn't care. You wanted to have a good time since you felt like your boyfriend didn't love you anymore. You shook off Soonyoung's hand and nodded.
