It's New Year's Eve and Chan invited you out. You and Chan have been best friends for a few years now but with his busy idol schedule it's next to impossible for him to find the time to hangout with you. So when you learned about how he wanted to hangout for New Years Eve it was super exciting news. Chan said he needed to work first thing in the morning but would be available during the evening.

This was also your chance to finally give him the scarf you bought him for Christmas.

Since Chan lives over 30 minutes away from you he told you to meet him halfway so that he didn't have to drive too far. You took the bus to the location and waited patiently for your friend. It was getting even chillier outside now that the sun was starting to set, surprisingly enough there wasn't snow on the ground though, but you still regretted not bringing gloves with you. As you stood around waiting for Chan to arrive your mind wandered, wondering what he had planned for the two of you.

In all honesty you didn't even care what the plan was going to be. You were just happy to spend time with Chan. You scanned each side of the street to see if you could recognize Chan anywhere. Knowing how he's an idol, you were looking for someone that was obviously trying to hide their identity. That's when you heard a voice call out your name behind you.

Chan was rushing to make it to you on time. Work kept him a little longer than he expected, plus traffic was nuts since it was New Years Eve. By the time he made it to the general area you were waiting at Chan parked his car in a private garage and bolted down the street toward you. That's when he finally saw you and called out your name.

When you turned around Chan's heart skipped a beat. Your long brown hair swayed in the air as you turned, your lips curled upward into a sweet smile. Both of your hands were holding a large gift bag, then you raised your right hand and waved at your friend. Chan was waving back as he jogged toward you, a smile hiding behind his black face mask.

The first thing Chan did when he reached you was wrap his arms around you and embraced you. You were surprised by the sudden hug but smiled widely and patted his back in return. His hug was so warm and welcoming, you didn't want him to stop. But ultimately he had to let go for you two to go and hangout.

"Hey, wanna grab some coffee?" Chan asked you, shoving his hands in his puffy jacket pockets.

"Yes, please." You nodded.

Chan brought you to a coffee shop that wasn't as busy as the other restaurants nearby. You both ordered hot, flavored coffees and sat down at a table closest to the shop's windows, taking your coats off and hanging them on the back of the chairs. You set the gift bag next to you on the floor while the two of you chatted. Chan talked about work, then you talked about school since you're still attending university.

"So..what's in the bag?" Chan glanced down at the ground.

"Oh!" You almost completely forgot about the scarf. "I-its your Christmas gift."

Your best friend looked surprised that you even got him a present. You handed him the bag and watched him pull out the brown wool scarf. A shy smile appeared on your face when you saw Chan's eyes sparkle.

"You got this for me?"

You could hear excitement in his voice. Since Chan had his face mask pulled down to drink his coffee you could see a wide, toothy smile on his face as he examined the scarf. He suddenly stood up from his seat and started putting his coat back on.

"Let's head out." He said, his smile not going away.

You weren't done with your coffee yet and ended up taking it with you anyways. Chan waited for you to get your coat on before leaving. He was excited to put the scarf on, which was why he suddenly wanted to leave. Chan held the door open for you and you thanked him.
