You're the assistant coach for your university's college basketball team. Your job on paper is to breakdown gameplay, run training sessions and mentor the players. The two reasons why you got this job in particular was because firstly, you grew up watching your brother play basketball and your father was his coach. And secondly, your older brother was the coach. But your real job is practically being a nanny for the team.
Since the university's basketball team was well renowned across the country they get extra special treatment, including their very own fraternity house. And because you're like a glorified messenger for your brother, you're at the house so frequently that it's practically your house too. You grocery shop for the house, you make sure the guys keep the house clean, you wake them up when necessary. It's a full-time job, on top of the schoolwork you have on a daily basis.
One day you showed up at the house to cook the team a big meal before their final game of the season. You had big bags full of groceries in your hands as you attempted to open the door with your key. One of the guys heard your keys jingling at the door and opened to see who it was. It was Seokmin.
His eyes opened wide the moment he saw you. You had a team jersey on over an oversized T-shirt that covered the shorts you were wearing. You didn't think anything of his facial expressions, assuming he was just judging you for showing up at the house so early in the morning. Seokmin leaned his shoulder against the door frame and hid a grin behind his hand.
"Lee." You greeted him.
"Coach." He greeted you back. "What are you doing?"
"Coach Park told me to boost morale for the big game tonight, so I thought cooking you guys a meal would do just that." You said as you marched your way inside, clearly having trouble keeping a firm grip on the grocery bags.
"Let me help you with those." He said as he closes the front door and grabbed the bags out of your hands.
He walked ahead of you toward the kitchen. From the silence on the bottom floor of the house it was apparent that no one else was awake yet. Which was in your favor. The less people in the kitchen the faster you could get the food prep done.
Seokmin set the groceries down on the counter and leaned up against it. He had his arms crossed as he watched you walk around the kitchen, grabbing all the equipment you needed to prep and cook. By this point his presence was bothering you, as his tall frame was taking up too much work space you needed.
"If you're just gonna stand there then help me prep breakfast." You shouldered him out of your way.
"Yes ma'am." Seokmin said, standing at attention, waiting for you to give him directions.
You instructed him to wash and cut meat while you chopped veggies. The two of you worked quietly in the kitchen completing the tasks you set out to finish. By the time food prep was done a couple of the guys were making their way downstairs for their ritual coffee. Two of them appeared at the entrance of the kitchen and paused abruptly in their tracks.
You didn't notice them at first but Seokmin did. He looked over at them to see them looking over at you. It was obvious they noticed what he saw first thing this morning. He nudged his head in the direction of the coffee maker and silently told them to get out of the kitchen. Before they could sneak off you saw them out the corner of your eye.
"Good morning Kim, Kwon."
"Mornin', coach." The two responded in unison as they slinked away.
Eventually everyone but the captain was awake and hanging out in the living area. Seokmin joined everyone else once you told him to get out, so you could start cooking. From the kitchen you can hear the guys getting louder as their coffees were beginning to wake them up.
