21. The Surprise.

Freen.

I have a huge problem. I don't know what to buy as a gift for the birthday of my half sister, Theia. She and I had gotten a bit close ever since she asked me to help her choose the right wine for her party. Funny thing is I brought 12 bottles to my house for her to taste and we ended drinking and got drunk. I let her sleep in the guest room.

I had a hard time picking a gift for her, luckily Mimi called asking me if we could have coffee. I said yes and when she arrived I dragged her to the nearest mall and have her choose a gift for my Theia.

She gladly agreed which in the end I thought I might have not think it through. Since she's known and seeing me with her, I got recognized too. Some wanted to take pictures even with me too. My plan of what should have been an hour of shopping, turns into 6 hours.

Not just that! It stressed the hell out of me. Having to follow Mimi around while she choose either clothes bags or beauty products is tiresome. She's even more indecisive than me.

So I intervened, She held up a sexy black dress with a slit and both sides of the waist open. I thought that could be perfect for Theia. I immediately told Mimi that is the one then I took it from her and went straight to the counter.

After that I let her choose the restaurant so we could eat dinner. We talked over dinner. She was sweet but a bit self centered. Yet she hasn't failed to flirt with me. After dinner, I walked her to her car. Before she went in she leaned on me and gave me a kiss on the cheek which she lingers for a while. Then she whispered; "You want to continue our talk at my place?"

I politely declined saying that I had an early meeting tomorrow. I told her next time we meet, I'll tour her at the Equinox. She replied. "That's nice, but it'll be great if you tour me to your house too."

Gosh the hormones of this woman! Flirty and Horny. If this happened a few months ago, I would say yes to go to her place.

When I got back at my car, I just sat there and noticed something. I seldom drink anymore. I don't go out much. I don't flirt nor date anymore and I made myself always busy. That's when I realized I've changed.

Why? How? What made me change? Her face suddenly appeared in my mind's eye. I sigh deeply, cause I'm thinking about her again. I started the car and drove myself home.

I arrived at the place of Theia's fiance. It'll be a surprise party for her. I don't know anyone in the party aside from Theia and her boyfriend. I feel so left out of place. I arrived at the right time, for after a few minutes Theia arrived. As soon as she opened the door the people at the front popped up from where they're hiding and started singing Happy Birthday.

She really was surprised. Her boyfriend hugged her and she thanked him for the party. She then went around greeting guest holding her now fave wine. When she saw me she ran and thanked me.

"This is so good sis." She raised her glass. "I can't believe you and Carl did this behind my back!"

"Glad you love it. But just a few glass okay? You need to entertain your guests tonight."

"Yeah, you're right. I'll just get wasted at Equinox tomorrow. You'll be there too right?"

"Yeah. I will. By the way." I handed her a paper bag. "Advance Happy Birthday."

I smiled at her as I watch her took the dress out. She smiled widely as she put it against her body.

"Wow. Thanks sis. This is so pretty and sexy! I'll wear this tomorrow!" She then hugged me. I happen to look ahead and saw Carl approaching us along with someone that looks familiar. Theia let me go and looked at where I was staring.

My smile faded as they grew closer.

"Baby? Let me introduce our florist." He gestured the woman beside him. "Theia meet Becca, she arranged and set up the flowers. She owns Becca Blooms."

Theia enthusiastically hugged her while I'm just rooted to where I'm standing. I was just staring at her.

"You're amazing mixing the different colored lilies. It looks absolutely magnificent. I took a lot of pictures already. I'll definitely bring a lot of it home." Theia said then went beside me. "By the way, meet my sister, half but nonetheless still my sister, Freen."

"We do know each other." I said looking at her who finally meet my gaze. She smiled then looked at Theia.

"Yeah, she's my brother's friend." Becky said.

Ouch. So we were never friends then. If not, what were we? Nothing.

"I have an idea! Why don't you arrange the flowers for my party tomorrow!"

"That'll be great! Baby." Carl said as he went beside Theia.

It became awkward as they were hugging in front of us. When they parted Theia excitedly said. "Becca right?"

Becky nodded. Theia hold her hands. She was startled that she even looked at me.

"So, you'll fix my flowers tomorrow right?"

"Uhm... I need to check first if the flowers you wanted are available. Would it be the same ones?"

"Yes please. I really love the arrangements today." Theia said smiling.

"I'll check on it now. Nice to meet you Theia. Excuse me..." She excused herself and left us.

My eyes followed her. My body shouts follow her but my mind said don't. I looked at Theia and excused myself too. I took a glass of wine from the waiter, drank it all right away as I walk towards where she went. Left the glass on a table.

I saw her almost at the main door. I half ran and was able to reach her arm. I grabbed her and pulled her towards the door. I went in dragging her along with me.

"Freen! What are you..."

She stopped as I silenced her with a kiss. I don't know why I'm kissing her, but I am kissing her. Yeah, It doesn't make any sense at all.

She got startled and went rigid as my hand was holding her waist and the other was on her neck.

She relaxed then soon was kissing me back. As I realized she's kissing me back, I pushed her. She got startled.

We were staring at each other for a few seconds then she grabbed me by the neck and kissed me.
