55. The Advisor.

I panicked as I saw Richie downstairs. I was glad I wore Becky's clothes instead of going down naked. I panicked even more when I saw the time.

I owe him an explanation. He must've been shocked seeing me with her and that intimate. She saw me hugged her and kissed her cheek even heard me calling her baby.

I set that aside as we were about to get out of the shop. The other two men of Richie took care of the crowd while Richie made sure I reached my car. I thanked him and drove off.

I drove fast for I don't want to be late. I reached the office just in time. I ran as soon as I got out of the elevator. I reached my office panting. I sat down on my chair and suddenly got startled as someone spoke on my left side.

"Where were you?"

"Jeez Heng! Don't startle me like that."

May knocked and went in with a cold water as well as her coffee and croissant.

"Thanks May." I took the water and drank it in one go.

"Did you came from a marathon?" He chuckled as he saw how thirsty I was.

"No. More like a premiere night of a movie."

"What?"

I told him what happened.

"No wonder why you were late."

"I'm not late. I'm on time."

"Let me rephrase it then. No wonder why you were late than your usual time."

"Shut it." I then relaxed on my chair, took my phone out and send Becky a message.

"Did you and Rich talked?"

"No time to. But I hugged him, said sorry and that we will talk soon."

"Yeah. You do owe him that. You did broke his heart."

"I know."

"Did you tell Becky about the new contract?"

"Yeah."

He looked shocked. "Now this sucks. How come you're still in one piece while I was broken after telling her?"

"Coz they're different dumb ass. Your girl is clingy and possessive. No offense. But Becky is more understanding. She even congratulated me. I was the one who's sad."

I then remember what happened last night, her way of celebrating is by fulfilling her promise. I could feel my face getting heated.

"By the looks of it she did more than congratulated you. While I, I slept on the couch that night. That's unfair! We haven't had sex til now!"

"Jeez Heng I don't need to hear that!"

"You should. Your best friend is ranting so you should lend me your ears. I'm suffering, can't you see?"

"Then do something about it. You know what Becky said... It's our first step to success, that she's proud of me and that we should focus on it. If she does love you Heng, she'll be proud of your achievement and stand by you as you take those steps to success. Your success is her success too."

Heng looked like he's thinking what I've just said.

"You're right. I need to do something and make her see that my success is also hers. I'll come up with something tonight."

The phone rang and it was May telling her that the staff have arrived for the meeting.

"Now you owe me lunch. You made me miss my breakfast."
