Part 56

Becky's POV

After meeting with Lax I roam around. I can feel like someone is watching me but I shrugged it off since I'm inside the mall. People will stare from time to time. I dialed Nop when I was in a jewelry store. I told him that we needed to discuss Yuki's case and that I might recommend Lax as P.I. He said that his busy so I just told him I can wait.

I went from one store to another but didn't purchase anything since I forgot my credit card and I don't have much cash on me. Nop then messaged me that he is already inside and he picked a restaurant for us to eat. I went to the restaurant and met him there. He kissed and hugged me as he greeted me, he also complimented my dress which made me blush. He's always like this but this time it's different. I feel a little bit uncomfortable. He changed his seat beside me as we looked at the menu. He made jokes that made me laugh so the uneasiness that I felt was gone.

We are discussing what to eat when he tucked my hair into my ear. He then started to caress my cheeks. I don't want to assume that he's making a move on me but I'm starting to get mad at him. I kept it inside and I can feel my face getting red because of it. He is being touchy as he put his arms around my waist and all I can think of now is Freen so I needed to stop him.

Becky: (annoyed) What are you doing?

Nop: (smiling) What?

Becky: (annoyed) You're being touchy Nop

Nop: (serious) Look, Becky. We've been together for a long time. I can see how hurt you are that Freen is not giving you time and attention so here I am. I love you Becky. I can treat you better than she can. I won't hurt you and I won't leave you.

I sighed in front of him. I always knew that he liked me but since he knew that Freen and I are together I was hoping that he'd stop. I held his hand and looked sincerely into his eyes.

Becky: Nop, you're my childhood friend. I know how great a man you are. Any girl would be lucky to have you.

Nop: (sad smile) But you don't love me, right?

Becky: (smiling) I love you Nop. I do, it's not just the way you want me too. I love you as a friend, as a brother, nothing more. I'm sorry if I can't reciprocate the feeling you have for me Nop. I just don't see you that way.

Nop: (sad laugh) I knew this would happen but still it hurt.

Becky: (smiling) I'm sorry, Nop. It's not my intention to hurt you this way.

Nop: (smiling) There's no chance?

Becky: (shaking her head into a No) I love Freen so much Nop. My heart belongs only to her.

Nop: (crying) Thank you for your honesty, Princess.

Becky: (holding Nop's hand) Someone out there deserves your love more than I do Nop, and that someone will also love you the way you deserve. (long pause) Friends?

Nop: (kissing Rebecca on the forehead) Friends. From now on you're officially my younger sister.

Nop wiped his tears and we both laughed. I rejected Nop's feelings and I know I hurt him badly but I'm glad we're able to clear our relationship. I feel closer to him more than ever. We talked about Yuki's case and I suggested Lax as P.I but he rejected it since he already began his own investigation. He then asked about me and Freen and I shared some information with him including the fact that she's been avoiding me. He listened to me and gave me some advice. We finished our dinner and we're about to say goodbye.

Nop: Princess, you take good care, okay?. I will be away for awhile but if you need anything, I'm only one call away.

Becky: (smiling) I understand. Thank you once again, Nop.
