"I thought of you when I saw that on display," he kept going.
I checked him for a moment. He was wearing a suit that made him leaner and more gallant. His thick black hair was perfectly slicked back which made his entire face more prominent than usual. His figure was more defined now and he was unquestionably attractive.
His apologetic smile then turned into a grin. He must have noticed my fascination. "Let's get inside."
"W-Where's Lilia? She should be here?" I asked when I came back to my senses. "You shouldn't be here!"
"No... you won't see her tonight. It's just the two of us," he clarified.
I scowled at him. "What do you mean?"
He sighed, contemplating about what he was going to say to not make me angrier and more confused. "Honestly, I am the one who invited you for a date tonight."
"What the hell!" I blurted out intemperately.
I realized my approach when people coming to the stairs and the ones near the ticket desk turned to me. Embarrassment poured all over me and I just wanted to leave.
Jair just suddenly grabbed my hand to intertwine it with his. I glared at him when I found his eyes. I was breaking off myself not to scream at his face with all the people near us.
"Bitawan mo ko," mahina pero may diing pagkakasabi ko sa kanya.
He didn't listen to me and just dragged me to the ticket desk. He showed his phone to the woman at the desk and magically he was given two strips of paper and gestured the huge door to us.
"I'm not watching an opera with you!" mababa ang boses na bulyaw ko sa kanya.
"Yes, you are," he arrogantly replied.
Fucking, Jair! He didn't change a bit. He was still arrogant and best at making all his bids possible.
I was not comfortable with him tonight. I couldn't believe I ended up spending it with him watching an opera like a couple. I dolled myself up for Lilia, not for him. I didn't like that he was the one taking the gain!
I didn't bother to ask why this happened. Lilia was clearly the one who texted and invited me to watch the opera tonight. And it was her name in the note saying, "Make yourself lovelier tonight. See you. -Lilia."
Right. Lilia wouldn't send me a message like that, only Jair who was bold and daring. He must have gotten the hint already that I was seeing somebody, still, he managed to pull this off without respect. I really couldn't believe him.
"Stop the glare," he pointed out.
This was VIP, this should be very expensive!
Jair pulled out a sit for me at the table. I was not myself and I was still in a state of shock. What the fuck! He really had his way of showing off his wealth.
"What the fuck!" I mouthed to Jair when he took a seat in front of me across the table.
He only gave a proud smile as a response.
We were served champagne while we waited for the show to commence. I instantly took a sip and then followed by a huge gulp before facing him again. "Why are you doing this?"
"For personal reason," he said casually, grabbing his own glass from the table.
"That involves me so mind telling me. I don't want to see you or talk to you or even do this romantic thing with you," batid ko.
