Chapter Ten

I sit down next to Five on the steps right outside of Meritech.

"Well, this isn't good." I break the silence.

"I was pretty good though, right? 'Yeah. What about my consent, bitch?'" Klaus chuckled

"Klaus, it doesn't matter." Five sighs.

"What? Why not? What's the big deal with this eye anyway?" Klaus demands.

"There is someone out there who's going to lose an eye in the next seven days. They're gonna bring about the end of life on this Earth as we know it." I explain.

"Yeah, can I get that 20 bucks, like, now, or what?" Klaus asks.

"Your 20 bucks?" Five asks

"Yeah, my 20 bucks," Klaus repeats.

I start to hand it to Klaus, but, then Five gets all angry.

"The apocalypse is coming, and all you can think about is getting high?" He says. I roll my eyes.

"Well, I'm also quite hungry. Tummies a-rumbling." Klaus rubs his stomach.

Five stands up, "You're useless. You're all useless!"

"Excuse me?" I ask.

"Except you dear." He kisses me on the head.

Klaus gives us a weird look, then his face changes to realization.

"OMFG! ARE YOU GUYS DATING????" He starts fangirling.

"Go ahead and shout it to the whole world why don't you?" Five says sarcastically.

"You didn't deny it!" Klaus points.

"I swear to god, Klaus if you tell ANYONE..." Five threatens.

"I won't! I won't!" He puts his hands up in surrender.

"I mean, technically we aren't dat-" Five covers my mouth with his hand and gives me a look that says, Not now.

"Hey, you know, I've just realized why you guys are so uptight. You must be horny as hell!" He chuckles.

"Klaus!" I say.

"Plus it probably wouldn't be safe, considering your, .. ah.... circumstances." Five gives me a sly grin.

I blush and look away. I don't think Klaus noticed.

"All those years by yourself. I mean, it's gotta screw with your head." Klaus gives us a sympathetic look.

"Well, we weren't alone," I say.

"Oh? Pray tell."

"Her name was Delores, we were the best of friends." I sigh and look down.

Before Klaus could go on, Five grabs my hand and blinks us to a taxi passing by.

"Don't stop. Just keep going." Five tells the driver.

"Hey! What about my money?" Klaus yells as we drove by.

I point at his feet and he sees the 20 bucks, "Thank you sister dearest!" And he blows me a kiss.

"Why did you do that?" Five asks. I shrug.

We get out of the taxi and start toward a store.

"Five, where are we going?" I ask.

"To get a friend." He replies. I immediately understand and start to run to the store.

Five blinks us inside and we start looking around for our friend. I finally see her and we walk toward her.

"Dolores," I whisper.

My eyes focus on something behind me and I grab Five's hand.

"No!" He yells as people start shooting at us.

We duck behind a clothing rack and I grab Dolores and hide her.

"We'll be right back," I whisper as Five and I divide and concur.

I take on Cha Cha and shapeshift into a panther as I swipe at her leg. She cries out as she tries to shoot at me. But it's very difficult to shoot at a fly.

I hear shots on the other side of the store and I blink back to where Dolores was and Five blinks next to me.

I hear Hazel and Cha Cha looking for us.

"Shoot anything that moves." Cha Cha tells Hazel. Five grabs a bag and puts Dolores inside.

We start to make our way across the store but Cha Cha and Hazel spot us and start to shoot.

Five and I try to blink away, but we're too tired.

Cha Cha raises her gun to shoot, but sirens were heard and they got distracted as Five pulls me behind a display case.

"The little bastard jumped again." Cha Cha growls.

I sigh as their footsteps fade and blink us home.

As Five and I walk up the stairs, we run into Allison and Luther.

"Five? Y/n? What the hell happened to you two?" Allison asked.

"Are you okay? Do you need help?" Luther held out his arm.

I grabbed his arm, "There's nothing you can do."

"There's nothing any of you can do." Five grabbed my hand and led me to his room.
