A/n: Hey! Sorry, this chapter took so long. I've been going through a reader's block and decided to just end this when season one ends. I will still put the happy ending, but I won't get to write seasons 2 and 3 like I wanted. I hope you all can understand.

Diego had left telling us that Hazel and Cha Cha were now his 'fair game'. We warned him not to go. But his pride took control.

"Former employer? What's this about? And don't give me any of the 'non of your business crap." Luther demands.

Five and I sigh, "Well, it's a long story."

"In the apocalypse, after 45 years the Handler came and offered us jobs and told us that in return for five years of service, they would let us come back home," I explain.

"How?"

"The company was called the Commission, it monitored all of time and space," Five began, "They turned us into the perfect instruments of rehabilitation of the time continuum. Or 'corrections' as they liked to call them. We weren't the only ones. There are others like us. Beings out of time, extracted from the lives that they knew. I don't know how they got there. But I do know that none of them were as good as us."

I scowled at the memories, "They didn't realize it, but we were biding our time, trying to figure out the right equations so we could get back. If we could get back. We just knew that we could stop the apocalypse. So we broke our contract to save the world."

"So you were hitmen," Luther states.

I glare at him. "And hitwoman."

He blushes embarrassed, "Ya. Ya. Uh, I mean you had a code, right? You didn't kill just anyone?"

"No code. We took out anyone who messed with the timeline." Five looks down again.

"What about innocent people?" Luther looked shocked.

"It was the only way we could get back here." I look down too.

"But that's murder!" Luther gasps.

"Like what we did as kids was any different," I mutter.

"Those were bad guys." Luther reminds me.

"Jesus Luther, grow up. We're not kids anymore. There's no such thing as good guys and bad guys it's just people, going about their lives. But when the world ends. All those people die, including our family. Time changes everything." Five scowls.

I was done. I could tell Five was too. I stand up and grab Five's hand to blink us.

"You're leaving?" Luther asks.

I roll my eyes, "No. We're going to bed."

Five chuckles, "We need to get Dolores."

I nod and Five blinks us to the van. I grab Dolores and he blinks us to the Academy.

We walk up the stairs to his room and I see blood. I stop and follow it to Klaus's room. Five follows and we see Klaus stretching.

He looked like crap. His usual bubbly personality was gone and was replaced with depression. It hurt my heart to see him like this.

I knock on the door. Klaus turns and sees us. We walk in, "You okay?" Five asks.

"Hey. Ya. I just.... Y'know. Long night." He starts to put a shirt on.

"More than one from the looks of it." Five jokes.

"Don't remember the dog tags," I say as he tucks them under his shirt.

"Yeah. They... Uh, belonged to a friend."

"How about that new tattoo?" Five points at Klaus's arm

The realization hit me like a truck. And I think that Five knew it as well.

"Y'know. I don't totally remember getting it. As I said, it was a long night." Klaus sighs.

"You did it. Didn't you." Five walks toward Klaus.

"What are you talking about?"

"You know we can recognize the symptoms." I step forward too.

"Symptoms of what?"

"The jet lag. Full body itch. Headache that feels like someone shoved a box of cotton up your nose and through your brain." Five looks at me.

"You gonna tell us about it?" I ask Klaus gently.

"Your pals. When they broke into the house and couldn't find you. They took me instead." Klaus looked at us.

"So in return, you stole their briefcase?" Five asks.

"I thought there was money in it. Or that I could pawn it, you know. And then I opened it..." Klaus looked on the verge of tears. I felt so bad.

"And next thing you know you were where?" I ask.

"Or should we say when?" Five looks at Klaus.

"What difference does it make?"

"What dif-" I could tell Five was getting pissed. I gripped his hand to calm him.

"Okay, how long were you gone?" Five questions.

"About a year."

"A year!" I gasp.

"Klaus, do you know what this means?" I ask.

"I'm ten months older now." He laughs dryly.

"This isn't a joke Klaus." Five insists.

"Hazel and Cha Cha will do whatever they can to get that briefcase. Where is it now?"

"Gone. Poof. I destroyed it."

Five went absolutely ballistic, "WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING??!!" I flinch.

"What do you care?"

"What do I care?" Five dryly laughs, "We needed it, you moron! So we could get back, we could start over." Five points to me and himself.

"Just- Just leave." Klaus walks toward the door.

"Where are you going?" I ask. I was very concerned. Klaus never did this.

"Interigation't over. Just leave..." And with that, Klaus left.

I sigh, Five walks over to a desk and writes something on a piece of paper.

"What are you doing?"

"You'll see." He grabs my hand and blinks us to his room.
