Chapter Twenty-Six

Colby's POV:

"Ok, 1...2...3," Sam then removed my blindfold and my eyes instantly widened as I gasped. I was shocked to see Sam had arranged a picnic date. "Do you like it?" Sam asked me. "I love it, thank you!" I happily squealed as I hugged him. Sam chuckled as I let him go. "I'm glad you love it, but I have something to ask you," Sam said. "Ok, what is it?" I asked him. "All this time I've spent with you made me realize that there's no one else I would spend my life with," Sam then held my hands in his. "I want to marry you someday but until then," Sam let go of my hands and pulled out a black box from the picnic basket. "I want to give you this." Sam opened the box which revealed two beautiful black and silver rings.

"These are promise rings I've gotten earlier today during lunch. I love you so much Colby, I promise to be there for you, I promise to treat you like the sweet angel you are, and I promise to love you with all my heart." My eyes glossed as I looked at him. "So Colby, will you accept this promise ring from me to you?" Sam asked with hope in his voice. Soon happy tears slipped down my face as I nodded my head. Sam smiled as he slipped on my ring. I then launched myself onto him. Sam then picked me up and spun me around as I giggled. "I love you, baby," Sam said as he put me down. "I love you too," I responded with a smile. That evening when we got home, Sam and I showed my mom our rings. Not only did she adore them but she was very happy for us

Next Day

I woke up feeling cute so I decided to wear a short sleeve shirt with a skull in the front, a black pleated skirt, and some Converse. I was at my locker while Sam went to hand in his late assignments. "Hey, you whore," I then turned to see Sarah smirking at me. "I thought I told you to leave us alone!" I snapped at her. "I'm not stopping until I take your boyfriend away from you," my eyes widened as I glared at her. "Now break up with him or else!" she threatened. "No! I'm not leaving him!" I snapped at her. "Very well then," she smirked. She then grabbed a fistful of my hair and slammed my face hard against my locker.

I then shakily touched my face to feel blood coming down my nose. Sarah grabbed a fistful of my hair and was about to slam me again when "Hey Leave Him Alone!" I then managed to see Tara coming my way. "Oh, so you want to defend this whore?" Sarah taunted. "Stop calling my friend a whore you bitch!" Tara snapped at her. "Whatever you say," Sarah smirked as she slammed my face again. This time I felt blood drip down my forehead.

"Hey!" Sarah stopped as she was aggressively pulled away from me. I then painfully got up to see Tara punch Sarah. Just then Jake came and pulled Tara away from Sarah. I then noticed my vision was becoming blurry. "G-Guys?" I called. The next thing I knew, everything went black.

Third Person POV:

"Go away, Sarah!" Jake demanded. Sarah scoffed as she walked away. "G-Guys?" Both Jake and Tara turned to see Colby close his eyes and collapse. "Colbs!" Jake shouted as he caught Colby before he hit the floor. Jake's eyes widened as he saw Colby's face. "Tara, what happened?" Jake asked as he held Colby by the waist. However, before Tara could answer, "Guys what happened?!" Both Jake and Tara turned to see Sam running toward them.

Sam's eyes widened as he saw Colby's bloody face as he lies unconscious in Jake's arms. "Sarah slammed Colby's face against his locker," Tara explained. "Though from what I can tell, she probably slammed him before I arrived." "We need to take Colby to the nurse," Sam said. They all nodded as Jake carried Colby bridal style and they ran to the nurse's office. Once they arrived, Sam volunteered to stay while Jake and Tara went to class. The nurse told Sam that Colby was going to be fine. She then bandaged Colby's head and wiped the blood from his nose.

Colby's POV:

I slowly fluttered my eyes open as I realized I was in the nurse's office. I then slowly sat up and saw Sam scrolling on his phone. "S-Sam?" I called out to him. Sam got up and hugged me. "Oh baby, are you ok?" he asked me. I nodded my head against his chest. "Oh baby, what happened?" Sam asked me. I then took a deep breath as I looked up at him. "S-Sarah came and said she was going to steal you from me and she threatened me to break up with you," I explained. "I-I told her that I was never going to do that to you so she got mad and slammed my face against my locker. Tara came and tried to stop her but she slammed me again. That's when Tara attacked Sarah until Jake came and got Tara off of her."

"Oh baby," Sam said as he hugged me. "I-I'm scared that Sarah might win and that you do end up with her," I sniffled. "Baby look at me," I then looked at him. "Baby, I will never leave you for her," Sam said as he cupped my face. "You're the one for me and no one else, ok?" "O-Ok," I responded. Sam and I stayed in the nurse's office until the end of third period. Once we left, we then headed to our lockers and grabbed our stuff for class.

I was sitting at my desk when suddenly a paper ball landed on my desk. I shakily grabbed the paper ball and opened it. It read, Break up with your boyfriend or else! My eyes glossed as I looked up and saw Sarah glaring at me. "Baby, are you ok?" Sam asked me. I nodded my head as I thought about what Sarah would do to me. Soon the bell rang and I grabbed my stuff and ran. I had just opened my locker when "Hey you whore."

I then shakily turned to see Sarah standing in front of me. "Break up with your boyfriend," she demanded. "No!" I snapped at her. "Listen you whore, either do as I say or pay the consequences," Sarah threatened. "Doesn't matter what you do 'cause he's never going to break up with me." I then looked to see Sam standing protectively next to me. Sarah smirked as she grabbed Sam and smashed her lips onto his. My hands turned into fists as I angrily pulled her away and shoved her against the lockers. Sarah's eyes widened as she looked at me. "Stay away from my boyfriend!" I threatened. Sarah scoffed as she walked away.
