Colby's POV:

It's been a week since Sam left. The first night, I cried myself to sleep. Jake and Tara had been trying their best to cheer me up but nothing worked. I just missed Sam so much. My mom felt bad for me when I told her about Sam. She also tried to cheer me up but nothing worked. In school, the jocks would either trip me or snickered at me from time to time. Rumors already spread that Sam got tired of me so he dumped me and transferred to a new school.

I had just finished dinner when I decided to do my homework. Luckily I didn't have that much homework so I finished quickly. After I was done, I then went on a walk. I arrived at the park and sat at the tree I sat with Sam, Jake, and Tara on the day we had detention. I began scrolling through the photos I took with Sam. I sigh as I think that maybe Sam has forgotten about me and moved on. I sniffled as I thought about Sam breaking our promise. I then wiped my tears away as I stood up and walked back home.

I was halfway home when I was suddenly dragged into an alley. I began to panic as I was thrown against a brick wall. I shakily looked to see Chad. My eyes widened in fear. "Hello Brock," Chad smirked. "P-Please let me go," I begged as I looked at him. "No can do, you see, ever since you snitched on me, my friends won't talk to me anymore. So I thought I would teach you a lesson for being a snitch," Chad sneered. I was then tossed to the ground where Chad began kicking and beating me up. All I could do was cover my head and face the best I could as I begged Chad to stop.

After getting kicked and beaten up, Chad grabbed a fistful of my shirt and picked me up, and threw me against the brick wall. I just winced in pain as I looked at him. Chad then smashed his lips onto mine and forcefully kissed me. I then pushed him away from me. "Hold still you whore!" Chad snapped. Chad then pinned my hands above my head and then attacked my neck as he began kissing and biting it. I just whimpered as I looked away and shut my eyes. I then shook in fear as Chad stopped and grabbed my shirt and lifted it up.

My eyes widened as I saw Chad take out a pocket knife. I just whimpered and shook in fear. "Now for a taste of your own medicine," Chad smirked as he spun the knife around. "No, please!" I begged as I tried to hold back my tears. "Shut up you whore!" Chad snapped. I then shut my eyes as I prepared myself for the pain. Suddenly I heard a grunt follow by a thud. I then opened my eyes to see Sam standing protectively in front of me with his beautiful angel wings. "Sam!" I called as Sam turned to look at me. "Hello love," Sam greeted as he hid his wings.

"What the hell are you doing here?!" Chad snapped. "I'm here for my boyfriend!" Sam snapped back. "As I said before, I HATE people messing with what's mine!" Chad yelled. "Colby was never yours, to begin with! Colby is a human being and deserves to be treated like one!" Soon sirens were heard close by. "Until next time Brock!" Chad scoffed as he walked away. Sam then picked me up bridal style as I squeaked. I then wrapped my arms around his neck as I laid my head on his chest. Sam took out his wings and flew away.

Third Person POV:

"Wow," Colby said, astonished as he saw how everything looked from above. "I'm glad you like the view," Sam chuckled. Once they got home, Sam put Colby down. Colby then opened the door and led Sam in. Sam followed Colby to the living room. "Sam, you came," Colby said as he launched himself onto him. "Of course, I came love," Sam said as he wrapped his arms around Colby's waist. "B-But I thought you had forgotten about me and moved on. I really thought you broke our promise," Colby told him as tears slipped down his face. "Aww baby, I'm sorry I took long," Sam said as he wiped Colby's tears away. "But turns out Evangeline, Gabriel, and the other angels didn't agree with me being with you. I tried the first three days to come to you but I kept getting caught and I was even thrown into a cell."

Colby gasped as he heard what Sam has been through. "They wanted me to forget you and assigned me to someone else. But I refused since you're the only one for me," Sam said as he cupped Colby's face. "Sam, I missed you so much. Everyone in school already started rumors about how you got tired of me and dumped me," Colby sniffled. "I missed you too, baby. That's why I managed to escape and flew to you," Sam said as he pecked Colby's nose. Sam and Colby hugged each other as they embraced each other.

"Samuel!" Both Sam and Colby jumped apart to see Evangeline and the other angels. "We knew you'd be here," Gabriel said. "Come along Samuel, your new assignment is waiting for you," "No," Sam responded. "Samuel, your new human is a girl named Karla. She's seventeen and has brunette hair and blue eyes," Evangeline said. "No, I'm not leaving Colby," Sam said. "I'm sorry Samuel but you have to let him go," Evangeline said as she reached to separate both boys. Sam protectively wrapped his wings around Colby to protect him.

"No, I'm not leaving Colby. He's the love of my life," Sam said. "S-Sam, it's ok, go ahead I don't want you to get in trouble," Colby said as he looked at Sam with glossy eyes. "No baby, any punishment is worth it as long as we're together," Sam said as he held Colby tight. "I-I love you so much," Colby said as he held onto Sam real tight. "I love you too baby," Sam said as he hugged him. Soon clapping was heard as Sam and Colby looked around. "Congratulations Samuel, you passed," Clementine, one of the head angels, said with a smile. "Passed what?" Sam asked, confused as he let go of Colby.

"All of this was your last test," Clarence, another one of the head angels, responded. "You see Samuel, we always assigned this test to all of our first angels. Many angels failed, only a few have passed," Evangeline explained. "Your mother was the last to pass. That is until you passed today." "But why a test?" Sam asked. "It's so we can see who is truly loyal and who isn't," Clementine added. "So does that mean Sam can stay?" Colby asked with hope in his voice. "Yes, Cole, Samuel can stay," Evangeline chuckled. Colby squealed as he hugged Sam. Sam and the other angels chuckled at Colby's reaction.

"Samuel, since you just got your wings back I'm going to give you something," Evangeline said. Evangeline waved her hand around Sam and his once beautiful angel wings turned into a silver guardian angel wing necklace around his neck. "What's this?" Sam asked as he looked at the necklace around his neck. "This Samuel is a silver guardian angel wing necklace. Your mother has one just like it," Gabriel said. "If you ever want to come to visit us in heaven just look at the sky and the sun will shine and you get your wings," Evangeline explained.

"Now Cole, I have something for you," Evangeline said. Evangeline then took out a ring. "This Cole is a silver angel wing ring. Normally we don't really give gifts to humans but you Cole proved to be a true angel." Evangeline slipped the ring on Colby's right ring finger. "Thank you, I love it," Colby said. "You're welcome. Now unlike Samuel's necklace, your ring is like a protection ring. It will guard you through danger," Evangeline explained.

"But why did I earn this?" Colby asked. "You earned this ring because of the good you have within. Not only do you care about others, but you were even willing to sacrifice both of your happiness so Samuel wouldn't get into even more trouble. You are also kind and loyal to those around you and yourself." "In other words Cole you are an earth angel," Gabriel said. "Now we must be on our way," Evangeline said. "Thank you, Evangeline," Sam said. "You're welcome, Samuel." With that, the angels soon left.
