Chapter Twenty-One

A/N: The shirt is similar but instead it says Black is My Happy Color on it

Sam's POV:

As soon as the angels left, Colby and I ate dinner while watching TV. When Lesa came home, we then explained everything to her. She was very happy that Colby and I were finally reunited. We even showed her our gifts from the angels themselves. Of course, she loved them. That night, Colby and I were passionately making out. "I love you, baby," I told him as I kissed his lips. "I love you too," Colby responded with a smile on his face. "Colby, let me take you out to dinner tomorrow," I told him. "What? Really?" Colby asked me. I nodded my head as I smiled at him. "Ok," Colby responded. That night Colby and I fell asleep cuddling each other while watching a movie.

The next morning, I decided to do a little picnic date with Colby instead of a restaurant dinner. I then decided to ask Jake to skip lunch with me so I can buy Colby a promise ring. As I was thinking, I had picked out the perfect outfit for Colby. I picked out some black high-waisted jeans and a black grunge t-shirt with the words Black is my happy color," written on it. Once Colby woke up I gave him his outfit. I then grabbed mine and went to get change in the bathroom. Once I was changed and brushed my teeth and hair, I then stepped out of the bathroom.

Just then Colby stepped out and looked amazing in the outfit I got him. "Baby, you look amazing," I told him. Colby blushed as he looked at me. "T-Thanks, but I better go brush my teeth and hair," Colby responded. As he was gone I texted Jake.

J: Jake S: Sam

S: Hey Webster I need your help with something

J: Sam? Dude, where were you?

J: And what do you need my help for?

S: I'll tell you in our third-period Engineering class

Once I finished texting, Colby and I grabbed our phones and bags and went downstairs. After breakfast, we then walked to school while holding hands.

Colby's POV:

Once we entered school, everyone kept whispering while looking at me and Sam. Sam tightly held my hand as we walked to our lockers. Once we got to our lockers, "Hey Colbs." Sam and I turned to see Jake and Tara. "Hey, Jakey," I greeted with a giggle. "Oh my god, Sam!" Tara said as she saw Sam. "Hey guys," Sam greeted. "Brother, where were you?" Jake asked. Sam then explained everything to them. "Can we see?" Tara asked. Sam and I nodded as we showed them the ring and necklace. "Wow, they're pretty!" Tara said.

"Hey I'm going to see Principal Smith, Jake can you come with me?" Sam asked. "Sure thing brother," Jake replied. "Ok?" Tara said as both Sam and Jake left. "Well I'm going to class," Tara said. "Ok, I'm going to get my stuff for class," I told her. "Ok, see you," Tara said as she left. Once Tara left, I grabbed my stuff.

Sam's POV:

"So why did you want me to come with you?" Jake asked. "So I can talk to you about needing your help," I told him. "I thought we were going to talk about it during third period?" Jake asked. "I was going to tell you then but I decided to tell you now," I responded. "Oh well ok then. So what do you need my help for?" Jake asked me. "I need your help to get Colby a promise ring." "Wait? Are you serious?!" Jake asked me. "Serious as I will ever be," I responded. "Then heck yeah I'll help," Jake responded. "I knew you would," I chuckled.

"So my plan is, before lunch, I'm going to tell Colby that I'm going to talk with Principal Smith about my absence," I told him. "Ok, I'll tell Tara that I'm helping you with the surprise date but I'm having her tell Colby that I wasn't feeling good so I went to the nurse's office. Just in case he asks about me," Jake said. "Ok perfect," I told him. Once we got to Principal Smith's office, she then told me that I was marked excused since I was 'sick' all week. She then told me about how she wanted me to come after school to talk about the assignments I missed. I then left the office with Jake. On our way back, I saw Colby was in trouble.
