Colleen's P.O.V.
"I'll see you later, Stephie." He said before waving goodbye at me with a huge smile on his face. I waved back, excited for our plans later in the afternoon.
As soon as the bell rang signalling the end of classes for the day, I made a mad dash to the lockers to put away my things. I've been skittish the rest of the day and I just want to see him again. I told Giovanni to drive me to the park where we decided to meet because he said he needed to go home first.
I waited at our usual spot, eating ice cream while waiting for him to arrive.
But the problem is he never did.
I gasped when I felt an arm slung on my shoulder, bringing me out of that bitter memory. Why the hell does my mind such unwanted memories at such random times? I looked up and saw the smiling face of Alexei.
"Good morning," he greeted with a huge smile on his face. I don't know why but I blushed and my heart pounded by the proximity. I let myself relax causing Alexei to beam with happiness.
I slammed my locker door shut and we walked down the hallway to my first subject. Alexei insisted to walk me there and my stomach started to have another butterfly war. I'm just glad that no one was sparing us their attention. Alexei was talking animatedly, acting annoyed at his uncle who kept on insisting that he should pay for the money he spent on the auction. It confused me at first but I didn't feel any anger when I found out that his uncle is the CEO of a huge airline company. He said that he didn't want anyone knowing and I understood.
During the past week, I've been feeling comfortable around Alexei. He makes me feel at ease and... safe. I've also known more about him during the weekend after we got home from the trip. He told me that his uncle is the CEO of SG International since his parents left him and his sister with their grandparents. I listened to him share openly about himself and he said he was glad I didn't look at him with pity when he told me those things. Maybe my indifference about people helped but I didn't really think that Alexei needs sympathy. I know that he's a strong person.
Alexei snapped his fingers in front of my face, pulling me away from my thoughts.
"What?"
"I said, my uncle won't shut up about it so I agreed to be the model on the company's next advertisement or PR or whatever the hell he wanted from me. It's the least I could do since he helped me save you from the tentacles of that creepy old man."
My lips formed a small smile when I remembered what he was talking about. I stared straight ahead when I noticed we were nearing my first period room. A familiar pair of emerald green eyes stared back at me and I stopped dead on my tracks, Alexei bumping onto me. Those eyes made my blood ran cold and a shiver made its way through my body. We continued to stare at each other both frozen on the spot.
