Colleen's P.O.V.

"Dad, teach me how to ride a motorbike," I said.

 "No."

"But daaaaaaaaad!" I whined. "I thought you were leader of a gang or something back on your teenage years? Why won't you teach me?"

"That was way back before I met your mother and changed. Anyway, what's the sudden interest in something dangerous?" He asked with his chin resting on his palm. I scratched my head while smiling sheepishly.

 "I just watched this anime..."

"Of course," my dad rolled his tired eyes. "Sometimes I really think you watch too much of those, dear."

We were flying to Paris as requested by my grandparents. We visit each other alternately and they said that they were in France this week because they're looking for a venue for their golden wedding anniversary.

"You know what, sugar?" asked her father.

 "What?"

"Getting sick has its bittersweet tendency," he said. Oh right, my dad's not feeling well right now. "If I'm sick, I'm able to get out of work for a while but I have to endure the sucky feeling of being sick. It sucks."

I was about to respond when I realized that my dad has fallen asleep. I patted his head softly. I gazed at his sleeping face and felt a dull ache in my chest. Since my mom died, my dad had stood as both parents for me. He always has the time to drive me to school and pick me up after. He never showed me how tired he was after a long day at the office. He went to my piano recitals always on time. He never missed something in my life and I'm really happy that I've got such a wonderful father.

I put my gaze back to my laptop where I was watching another anime. The title was Sukitte Iinayo or "Say I love you" in English and the scene sort of reminds me of that night when Alexei wrote his number on my arm. Yamato Kurosawa reminds me so much of Alexei because they're both extremely persistent and unyielding.

Speaking of Alexei, I wondered if Arianne was able to tell him. I forgot to tell him that I'm going to France since I've been bombarded with people in my past coming back. I took a mental note to email him as soon as we landed.

More than six hours later, Pietro – my dad's personal pilot and one of his three bodyguards – announced that we'll be landing shortly. I've just finished the 13-episode anime and can't shake off the feeling that the anime is a faint reflection of me, Alexei, and our encounters with each other.

It makes me question my how I feel about Alexei because Mei fell for Yamato in the anime. My father's deep voice broke me out of my wonderland.
