Five years later...

Colleen's P.O.V.

I was staring at the kid who was building a sand castle in the sand box when I heard someone call my name. I whipped my head around and saw him running towards me holding hands with a cute little two-year old boy. They were both wearing bright smiles as they approach me. He enveloped me in a warm hug before turning to the kid and introducing him to me.

"Adam, say hi to Colleen." The kid looked up at me shyly, his chubby cheeks reddening. Aw! He's so cute. He had curly hair and his lashes are very long making him look more adorable.

"Hewo," he said with his cute toddler voice making me fall in love with him in an instant.

"Hi, sweetie." I greeted, patting his head.

"I'm sorry to call you so suddenly. You're the only one I thought of who is great with kids and I heard that you got back so..." he shrugged.

"That's okay, Seth." I smiled at him and his emerald green eyes sparked. Seth has grown. More mature, taller and tanner. His dirty blonde hair is also longer and he definitely looked like one of The World's Richest Bachelors.

"So, how was Juilliard?" he asked, lifting Adam up on his arms when the boy started tugging at his pants while we were walking.

"Extraordinary!" I beamed. "I can't believe time flew by so fast and I've graduated."

"I can't believe it has been five years and I have a little brother at the age of 23!" he told me. We sat on one of the park benches and Seth let go of Adam, who went to play with the other children. I giggled.

"I mean, what were my fathers thinking?" he asked no one in particular.

"Oh come on, Seth. I'm sure they just missed the feeling of being parents. I heard that you've been really busy and your business is really going great. Maybe they just want someone else they can spoil," I said with a teasing smile.

"You're always going to defend my parents because you ship them, don't you?" He narrowed his eyes.

"What? They're the first gay couple I've ever met in my life!" I defended with my hands up.

We both laughed. We continued to talk like that while I help him babysit Adam. After the incident that happened, I needed all the friends I could get and I've grown closer to Seth again. At first, Arianne was so against it that we almost fought, but since she saw me happy, she gave in.

I was in a comatose state for nearly a year after getting shot by the maniac, even missing my own high school graduation. When I woke up, at first I couldn't remember anything. Then a few days later everything went coming back to me in such a rush that my mind couldn't take it and I fainted.

The next time I woke up, I cried so much that they have to put me to sleep so as to make me rest. After that, when I was finally calm enough to ask questions, Arianne was there to answer them as best as she can.

She narrated to me what happened. When all crap went crazy, Darwin Clarke got away and the police chased after him but they lost him. That's why my room was heavily guarded inside and out. Bianca was found in the house where I was held captive but there was no sign of Alexei. A few drops of his blood were found but he's nowhere to be seen.

Dad told me a week later, when we finally got to talk – him explaining everything while I tried to concentrate without remembering the horrible face of my captors – that he received a letter from Alexei two months ago with only two words on it: sorry and goodbye.
