Loriatte reluctantly got out of bed with a weary sigh, having silenced the alarm she had intentionally set when Zayden had called her out for always oversleeping.
For the first thirty minutes of getting out of bed, she stood in the middle of her room quietly sobbing into her hands.
Then after a quick pep talk with herself, she dried her tears and inhaled then exhaled, hoping the ache in her chest would go away with every air she let out.
Loriatte then stepped into her en-suite bathroom, and was welcomed by a modern sink and vanity, a roomy shower enclosed by glass walls, and a toilet that had privacy with its own separate door. She also had the beautiful view of the city below that she enjoyed gawking at every time she would take a nice relaxing bath in the small, pristine white bathtub positioned near the floor-to-ceiling window.
Even though her life was technically in danger, she was living the life, and in style.
She really couldn't complain much.
Once she finished brushing her teeth and washing her face, she stepped into the shower and allowed the warm water to soothe her tight muscles. Besides losing herself in a nice warm bath, standing under the warm shower after scrubbing her body was another form of relaxation she enjoyed after a long day of chasing clues and dealing with the fine peace of man that was Zayden Harrison.
After the long shower, she applied cocoa butter flavoured lotion on her skin and threw on a pair of high-waisted black jeans with cuts by the knees, that were a bit baggy on her legs, where she wore a pair of black Nike sneakers on her feet, a cropped pastel green tee with thin straps balanced out the colour scheme of her outfit, she didn't wear much jewelry except a gold tulip necklace and a wristwatch accompanying the many golden bangles on her wrists, with a couple rings on her fingers- which, now thinking about it was definitely much.
She tied her mane of hair in a high puff, then grabbed her phone from the night stand and left her room, trudging down the stairs heading for the kitchen.
"Good morning, Loriatte," she jumped slightly at Zayden's voice which came from the living room.
Loriatte turned from the direction she was heading into which was the kitchen, a girl's gotta eat.
"Morning, jeez you scared me, I didn't know you'd be up this early."
"I'm always up this early, you're just never up on time to see me be up this early," he shrugged turning back to the crime show he was watching.
Loriatte squinted in his direction, "touché," she nodded then went back to her original mission which was to find food for her growling stomach.
"I made you some of those inedible vegan sausages."
Zayden had found some vegan sausages in the freezer and cooked them for Loriatte. He approached the kitchen nervously, unsure if he had cooked them correctly, but was met with a smile from Loriatte.
Although the sausages were slightly overcooked in her opinion, she appreciated his sweet gesture.
"Zayden, so you can be a total sweetheart when you want to! I completely forgot I even had these," she beamed gratefully at him before filling the kettle with water. She patiently waited for the water to boil while popping two slices of brown bread into the toaster.
She prepared her tea- something she had somehow grown to love because of Zayden- sliced the sausages, and arranged them on a plate next to her toasts.
"Have you eaten?" She asked Zayden as she walked into the living room, placing her tray of breakfast on the coffee table before sitting down on the floor in front of it, cross legged and with her back pressed against the sofa behind her.
