Loriatte reluctantly got out of bed with a weary sigh, having silenced the alarm she had intentionally set when Zayden criticized her for oversleeping.

As she stepped into her en-suite bathroom, she was welcomed by a modern sink and vanity, a roomy shower enclosed by glass walls, and a toilet that provided privacy with its own separate door. A beautiful view of the city below could be enjoyed while relaxing in the small, pristine white bathtub positioned near the floor-to-ceiling window.

Once she finished brushing her teeth and washing her face, she stepped into the shower and allowed the warm water to soothe her tight muscles. Taking a hot shower was always the perfect choice after scrubbing her body.

After the long shower, she applied cocoa butter flavoured lotion on her skin and threw on a pair of high-waisted black jeans with cuts by the knees which were a bit baggy on her legs where she wore a pair of black Nike sneakers on her feet, a cropped pastel green tee with thin straps balanced out the colour scheme of her outfit, she didn't wear much jewelry except a gold tulip necklace and a wristwatch with a couple rings on her fingers.

She was fortunate to wake up with her hair still straight, sparing her the task of spending an entire hour taming it and deciding on a hairstyle. Consequently, she effortlessly tied it up in an elegant high ponytail that gently swayed beneath her shoulders as she exited her room.

"Good morning Loriatte," she jumped slightly at Zayden's voice which came from the living room.

Loriatte turned from the direction she was heading into which was the kitchen, a girl's gotta eat.

"Morning, jeez you scared me Zayden, I didn't know you'd be up this early."

"I'm always up this early, you're just never up on time to see me be up this early," he shrugged turning back to the crime show he was watching.

Loriatte squinted in his direction, "touché," she nodded going back to her original mission which was to find food for her growling stomach.

"I made you some of those inedible vegan sausages."

Zayden found some vegan sausages in the freezer and cooked them for Loriatte. He approached the kitchen nervously, unsure if he had cooked them correctly, but was met with a smile from Loriatte. Although the sausages were slightly overcooked in her opinion, she appreciated his sweet gesture.

"Zayden, you're a lifesaver! I completely forgot about these," she beamed gratefully at him before filling the kettle with water. She patiently waited for the water to boil while popping a couple of slices of brown bread into the toaster. Soon she'll be enjoying a nice cup of tea with her toast.

As she prepared her tea, sliced the sausages, and arranged them on a plate next to her toasts, she was interrupted from asking Zayden if he had eaten by a knock at the door.

"Expecting anyone?" She raised an eyebrow at Zayden who shook his head.

"The receptionist should've alerted us of a visitor, hold on," he walked behind her and opened a random drawer pulling out a sleek black handgun.

Loriatte's jaw dropped, "that was there the entire time?" She mouthed when he brought an index finger to his lips, signaling her to be quiet.

The knock sounded once again, this time louder and more assertive.

Zayden and Loriatte crept down the foyer, moving slowly and carefully, tiptoeing to avoid making any sound, as they approached the door.

Zayden had the gun aimed in front of him as he stood against the wyall, trying to peek out of the peephole without standing directly in front of the door.
